Glassback
This game is classed "Extremely rare" but why?
It was distributed by the biggest name of the PD: - 17-Bit Software #2552 - PDSoft #3071 - United PD - Games #197 It is noted that the game exists in two forms. The original uses an external file "various.abk" and the second, integrates this file into the executable. |

I thought it was
I played this two years ago and have been looking for it since. Some people have even asked me from where I got it. But could not remember. So it is not that rare after all. Great! I'll remove the rarity. ps. I hope you don't mix it up with the sequel. That is easy to find |

No confusion. Both are common but there is a subtlety. The first episode is distributed by the author in a compilation called: AMOS Games Disk No.1
Logically, it's harder to find ... |

Anyway, the AMOS games disk I've upped to the Zone is 17-Bit Software #2552 (found on 17-Bit: The Continuation Disc) and PDSoft #3071 (found on Hottest 4 CD), which are one and the same. Besides Glassback, the disk contains 5 other shareware games (SnakeByte, Solitaire, Bomber, Light Cycles, Life Expectancy). Enjoy! |

@DamienD
Good to know, but that was also buried......in a thread about other games, no less! Anyway, judging from hipoonios' last post, it sounds like he wants to check out the other games on the disk more than anything else. Crashdisk also spoke of a disk with a version of Glassback that doesn't have an integrated game exec, so who knows......that may well be a different compilation again or possibly an "original" standalone version. Hopefully he'll be able to shed some light on who distributed that version (perhaps United PD or AMOS PD?!). Last edited by DrBong; 12 February 2017 at 22:56. Reason: Fixed typo! |

Sorry for not being clear enough. I'm looking for ALL the United disks etc... I have already been browsed through other collections (Assassins etc).
edit: okay, downloading these CD:s. Seems like a good start. Thanks! Last edited by hipoonios; 13 February 2017 at 06:16. |

ftp://ftp:any@grandis.nu/Commodore_A...D/Compilation/ For example: - United PD Gold - Megahits - GigaPD Virus Free PD Resurrection Vol. 1 is also on the FTP server, but buried in another folder as it's not in ISO format. Anything you can't find on the FTP server is usually available on Archive.org (e.g. Software 2000 CD Set Vol. 1) - sometimes with a handy index of CD contents not available from other sources - or other websites like CD.textfiles.com (e.g. the Polish Amiga ACS Coverdiscs 1996-1998) and AMR (e.g. Amiga Format coverdisks). Anyway, that should keep you and your net connection busy for a while! Have fun!! |
