SCSI Dive Size Limits on A1000

Hi guys,

Does anyone know if/what the Amiga 1000 external SCSI drive size limit is? I see most people are saying they have/had a 60MB SCSI Hard Drive, but I'm wondering if one could use a large modern SCSI drive in its place?

SupraDrive 4x4 SCSI Interface Card is what I was looking at... I realize that it couldn't really be used to load games from, (at least from what I've read) but it would allow me to backup all of my disks so I could easily copy them to a disk when I wanted to play.

Ah, thats an old controller.. I don't know for sure, but the max limit is theoretically 4GB.

However it's very probable that it can't even go that large. :-(

I'll be honest, after 20years I just found out the other day that A1000 could even use a hard drive

lol. Is there a newer/better controller that is still available that would allow for atleast a 4gig and works for A1000?

Some A500 controller plugged in back to front would do it (never plug them in upside down)..

A590, Supradrive 500XP, GVP A500-HD8+, etc..
