The GREAT Amiga Bring and Buy sale Event. (UK)

Hello all,

Amiga North Thames is considering hosting an Amiga bring and buy sale, for people who have cupboards/lofts full of unwanted Amiga hardware and software etc.
Given the interest in all things Retro, there's a good chance your unwanted hoard could find a good home.

Tables would be £3.00 for a small table and £5.00 for a large table. Admittance would be £2.00
- Looking at a date in May, if you are think you would attend to either bring or buy, post on to this thread so that
we can gauge numbers.
- Please only post if you know you could make it, we don't need false numbers.

Other usergroups welcome to attend. Additional ideas or comments welcome. :-)

First off, I can't attend as I'm too far north . Sorry if this is spoiling the point of the thread on the first reply.

But! That would be brilliant. The only thing I wonder is if it's worth limiting the amount people can buy, or even if you want to buy something you have to sell something... My concern would be an ebay trader taking advantage of your great opportunity to make a killing

Gosh, I'm cynical this morning - best of luck!

No, I understand your concerns, but I doubt many ebay trader will bother tbh. This is mainly aimed at the retro crowd, yeah sure, some good bargains are bound to be had, but then, if you can't make it, your only alternative is ebay. :-)

I believe someone has already mentioned an A3000 for sale..

Depends on location, and its transport links to central London.

I'm SW London, Kingston, the sticky out bit on the bottom left the old maps of greater London (looks a bit like the "Mull of Kintire").

Lacking car its going to be public transport. Buyer if I go (first one at least).

Okay, We have almost given up on the whole idea :-(

If you are interested in attending such an event, please post, or it will most likely get dropped.

We are happy to cater for retro gamers by setting aside an area for retro gaming, if there is enough interest.

Please, let us know.

Hi Mikey C,

I am interested in attending all such events, especially those close to home.

It would be a shame to have to drop the idea, because it will then be most unlikely ever to see the light of day.

Hoping you get the necessary support,

Thanks Mate,

Things seem to be picking up, Amigakit have indicated they would be happy to attend as soon as we set a date. Additionally, Amiga Retro reseller, ForeMatt will also attend and will be selling all their retro gear/software at the show. (as soon as we sort out a date and venue)

Thanks, Mikey_C.

You have been busy. Amigakit and ForeMatt would make it worth attending even if no-one else gets involved!

Keep up the good work, and this could be one hell of an event!

i would be interested, quite possibly to sell a load of boxed software, but May is a really bad time for me.

Also, confirmation of a venue / location would be very helpful.

Perhaps this could even act as a bit of a mini-EAB meeting, given how much difficulty there has been in the past in organising such a thing... but you really need to shout a bit louder about it! this thread has been here since march, and this is the first i've seen of it.

If FOL is coming from amigakit too, that'd be interesting.

Guys,

Thank you for your support! I am glad so many of you care. I will take this as a positive and move on. We'll discuss this at the next ANT meeting in May.

Meanwhile if someone else wants to add their support, please do :-)

Cheers!

I'd be up for helping do a Northern one... In fact, I'd be interested in setting up a northern users group

Mikey C - where are you with considerations about a date? I'd be gutted to miss this if there are a number of 'EAB regulars' attending.

i'm kinda hoping May is ruled out now (too soon)

i have so much crap booked through summer for mostly-Saturdays unfortunately

Its looking at an Autumn date now. But I can't confirm anything until I have spoken to the other ANT members.

I'll keep you posted.

Mikey, whats the ANT? Instead of just a bring buy sale, you can have game competitions, rare amiga stuff on display, people bring food and drink etc. Make it a day out. I wouldnt mind buying a few bits then giving someone a good hiding on sensible soccer while sipping a pint.
