Want to know this too. I finished the first 5 levels. Now game asks for the password (see last screenshot on HOL). I checked the disk from Workbench and I can see that all 30 levels are on the disk. So it's the full game for sure. Just need to know the password. Tried search for it in memory without any luck.

The second problem, I can not see where in game you can input the password.

Found out that this game also exists for the Atari ST. Someone on YouTube made a video of the first 14 levels, and that seems not protected like the Amiga version.

The author commented the video so have sent him a PM asking for the password. He haven't been active on YouTube for 2 years, so expect no response.

Maybe you just need to rename LEV_xx.DAT files to play further levels.

On the ADF hex edit the POS file to read 00 1D and save it back. This is to fool the game that level 30 was reached.

Now reboot and keep skipping nag screens until the Herman title screen appears. Type blind "stiltskin". Screen brightens if successful.

Now all levels can be played. Unfortunately the changes don't seem to be made permanent on disk. Maybe leaving POS file alone and beating the levels fair might do something.

Excellent! Now this game can hopefully be played all to the end. Will might give it another try soon.

This is a game that requires a lot of patience. Each level is a challenge to finish. The Gamemaps you uploaded to HOL will certainly help me. Thanks

when you say the changes don't remain permanent on disk does that mean that you have to hex edit the file before everytime you want to play?

No. You have to enter the password each time to go past 5.

ok so would anyone be kind enough to upload an hex edited adf to the zone? entering the pass word each time is no big deal.

I've searched and someone told me this "Type the word stiltskin into the title screen to unlock all the levels"
I don't know if that helps..

Heya clenched,

Nice work as always

Could you possibly clarify some more though?

Even when booting the multi-game "Herman / AF88b" disk, pressing <F1> to load "Herman Demo" and then typing "stiltskin" at the title screen it then flashes white for 2 seconds so one would assume being able to play past level 5 is now active.

Is the first hex edit step you've mentioned really required?

The maps are completely redone from the .pac files on disk instead of savestates. This is so the maps are in an initialized state.

White orb with orange halo - player

White orb with blue halo - upper left field of view as map first appears. If far enough apart, the screen pans from blue to orange

Orange orb - (spotted in water) possibly a shark fin not yet surfaced

Toilet - found at wall openings. Passing opening blocks it with adjacent tile. First example on level 1. Easy example on level 7

Flame - conceals object directly above. Joystick explosive lev 1, banana lev 2, life preserver lev 3. Notice the lev 2 brown block is not included because it is visible on the game screen

See the message to write enable disk so the position can be saved? After every completed level you can see the WinUAE drive light go red. That increments the count by one.

So you can play all levels up to the last level attained without editing anything.

Gotcha

...so by editing this POS file then the disk will no longer need to be written to after each level

Hmmm, the only problem with editing the POS file is that when starting the game you see this:

...meaning if you wanted to start from level 1 you need to scroll back.
