good evening guys..it's really hot here, eh? TerribleFire got Ya!
Rango! Don't start to piss me off, YOU GOT HELP HERE! i wrote you wich parts are obsolete/ not correct in the list.
i dont like your attitude, nobody told You "You MUST buy scope for 2 000$ to be able to build TF530!" i and Steve said, it's better to have a scope for debugging. That's it..
You have asked me:

we have answered on your questions, i also explained why i have bought that scope. My yourney ends not with TF530 card, i like to invest my money and my time in good equipment, and further projects, it became my hobby, i wanted to learn cpld and smd stuff and i met Steve, he explained difficult things super easy, he makes live streams, You can chat with him and get an answer on Your question..FOR FREE! May i ask you what have You done for community?

something about the 'fun is in the journey' or something...

As for microscope, i dont have one but found that using the liveview mode of my camera works well and i already had it and a macro lens.

Yup. As stated many can solder them without a microscope. But solder bridges can be a pain to see without some kind of magnification.

$29 guys. 1000x magnification with LEDs and USB powered. I'm sure it will get the job done. You're welcome. I contributed

ehh well 1000x is.. depending on monitorsize... sure image gets LARGE.. but a resolution that is horrible.. and I complain on MY POS microsocope is laggy.. bit it is aprox 4 times faster than this..
(yeah! I had one.. totally useless for soldering)

but I like the 1000x magnificartionscam

Check out the third link. They picked best microscopes for soldering purposes. Reviews are good as well. Board will be in one spot so not sure where legginess comes to place but then again i never owned one. Reviews for both are pretty good and price is right. I'm pretty sure 250x is plenty of magnification for this.

Finally got around to putting one of these in my 500. Works, but the IDE with a stock 3.1 install is VERY slow. I thought it had an issue at first and was giving a black screen, but noticed the drive LED blinking as it was booting. It take AGES to load up, like 3-4 minutes. And when I run something off the CF card it take AGES again to load up. Any ideas on why?

I noticed in one of the terrible fire's videos chip was running pretty hot, hence maybe that crash occurred, in that same video. What do you guys think of heat sink like that to cool this puppy down a bit, maybe also allowing little more overclock speed. Just thinking out loud. [ Show youtube player ]

Would this programmer work for TF530? Had those laying around. If not probably will sell them on ebay. Seem like blackcat is holding it's price pretty good. Maybe with proceeds to buy Pi 3?

You need the Xilinx platform USB programmer (or a chinese clone). Its also possible to use a Raspi as a programmer. Lastly you can also build a paralel-JTAG cable (cheapest option)

As an alternative to using a microscope, I buy these cheap +4.00 reading glasses found at gas stations and places like this one, works perfect when soldering or doing other precision work. It's a bit like wearing magnifying glasses, so unless you are used to glasses in general it might give a headache or vertigo (hehe).

EDIT:

Not to mention, you look cool like Bubbles in the "lab".

I see someone is selling one at 50MHz, that possible? Wish these can have more than 2MB Fast RAM... Is that going to happen?

It is possible to have more than 2MB of Fast ram. But the problem is with the TF530, and say a CPU Socket 8MB card, as long as the addresses do not clash.. but the major problem is the space inside the machine on the CPU socket.

So what you really need is Steve Leary to release the VHDL (he only releases the FPGA Bitfiles), and mixed with say 8MB of ram, you could use the freely available Eagle files to make your own 8MB TF530.

Steve has done the TF534, another TF530 but with 4MB and Sata.

TF530's problem is the IDE interface doesn't have the clearance for the Keyboard / case.

[edit] sorry Steve does release the VHDL... its in the source archive on Github.., You could very well add your own 8MB to the design, and get it made by a PCB house..

Terrible Fire Accelerators

The relocator takes care of the ide clearances.

I have no plans to do an update to the TF530 board. The 534S will have 4mb and Sata and that will be my last 030 board for the 500. No matter how much people try to bully me :/

EDIT: at some point I’ll clean up my verilog sources for 50Mhz and publish them. I spend ages creating a makefile to build all the variations of the firmware that people tore out of the TF328 because they just wanted to build it in ISE... not sure why I bother sometimes
