Ok, have now cleaned up this mess, and hopefully that's the last time I need to rename this game / series

So please do the following:
  • Delete the configuration file "C:\WinUAE\Configurations\Darkseed.uae".
  • Delete the configuration file "C:\WinUAE\Configurations\Darkseed II [RTG] [ShapeShifter].uae".
  • Delete the <gamedir> "C:\WinUAE\Games\Darkseed".
  • Delete the <gamedir> "C:\WinUAE\Games\Darkseed II MAC RTG".
  • Download / extract the following archive into "C:\WinUAE".

So if I changed my mind and the HOL entries back to Darkseed that would really mess things up? ;D

Seriously though, although they are stylised as Darkseed, the back of the box and the manual refers to itself as Dark Seed. I used to call it Darkseed as well, but the general consensus does seem to be as two words.

That's exact the consensus I came to here

I got it running in win3.1 in dosbox-x. Game works just no video fmv which is a slight issue.

I can definitely tell you that FMV videos play fine in the Mac / ShapeShifter version that I've now added into my collection

I would still say Darkseed. lol, as i have always gone by the main wording on the title screen of the game.

LOL, the "Boss" key i.e. <F9> in Dark Seed II is quite cool / funny

It switches the game screen to this:
Pressing again switches back to the game

These point and click games are often boring except some like "Les Passagers du temps" which had some very funny moments. I prefer drawing games than digitalized ones...
but thanks anyway, this is just my point of view...

Personally I really enjoy adventure games.

I also think that Dark Seed II is done really well and looks great

Today I decided to take a look at Dark Seed CD32 vs Dark Seed Macintosh CD-ROM, and do some comparisons.

The Macintosh version is definitely better; higher resolution, has slightly improved graphics, and there is double the amount of game data.
Given all this, have decided to add this into my collection instead of the Dark Seed CD32 version...

So, please just download / extract this archive into "C:\WinUAE"

@DamienD

I played around with Shapeshifter today and...
Maybe you would like to add this to your next Update pack:

Super Wing Commander

Nice, yeah why not

I'll probably redo myself though; as all stuff in my collection is created by me... I'm funny like that.

Tested what you did though, takes ages to get past this screen:
I think maybe it's due to you mounting a .DMG file... you can actually mount the .Toast file in WinUAE directly.

Also, I noticed there's an update for this game which I'll apply.

So will need to install to a new .HFV, apply the update, change some game preferences, setup for a CD32 controller etc...

There's quite a lot of keys in this game:

Code:
<Space> Fire Gun
<Enter> Fire Weapon
<+> Speed up
<->		Slow Down
<S> Stop
<Tab> Afterburners
<T> Toggle through targets
<G> Change Gun
<W> Select Weapon
<C> Onboard Computer
<A> Autopilot
<R> Request permission to land
<B> Order Spirit to Break and Attack
There are only 7 buttons I can configure on a CD32 controller so will need to work out what's best.

Ok, I think I'll set this:

Code:
Red Button Fire Gun
Blue Button Fire Weapon
Green Button Afterburners
Yellow Button Toggle through targets
Play / Pause Onboard Computer
Reverse Slow Down
Forward Speed up

Ok, here is Super Wing Commander for the Mac
The following stuff was done:
  • Install the game to a separate .HFV file.
  • Apply the update 1.02.
  • Change the game memory to be 6000, as suggestion in the ReadMe for Mac 68k.
  • Add in the manual.
  • Add in cheats.
  • Configure a CD32 controller as follows:
Code:
Red Button Fire Gun
Blue Button Fire Weapon
Green Button Toggle through targets
Yellow Button Afterburners
Play / Pause Onboard Computer
Reverse Slow Down
Forward Speed up
So please just download / extract this archive into "C:\WinUAE".

Thanks to twitek for the game suggestion

You already did most of it.
I just copied your HOMM2 .hdf file, deleted the cdrom and homm2.hfv inside of it.
Then i copied the "Super Wing folder" to your starterdiskqt.hfv and put an alias in the startup folder. That's about it.

The update is already applied.

I created a new CUE/BIN image with the files from the HFS .dmg file. Sadly, the delay stayed the same.
Interestingly HOMM2 from your collection has the same startup delay for me. So it must be something else than the CD image.
Maybe i should have copied Warcraft or some other game instead. I think i will try that...
