Has anyone manage to save state/game on PSPUAE 0.41?

I have a PSP with firmware 1.5 but can't save my career on SWOS with PSPUAE 0.41.

Cheers

what happens?

does pspuae crash the whole psp, or does it just reset the emultated amiga?

if it's the latter, you may just need to create a /STATE/ folder in the pspuae directory on the memorystick.... i had this problem for a while

are you using v0.41 or 0.41.1 ? i think the only revision in 0.41.1 is fw 2.01+ compatibility.... perhaps you'd be better off going back to 0.41 for fw1.5... i cant be sure cos i'm on fw2.5 myself.

the dude resonsible for the update has just sent me the new beta of pspuae - and he asked me to post it online for all.

you'll find it tucked away on my website at:

www.djcresswell.com/amigaonline

(the zip contains *only* the new eboot)

you'll need KICK.ROM as your default, and i see support for KICK10.ROM, KICK11.ROM, KICK12.ROM, KICK13.ROM, KICK20.ROM, KICK30.ROM AND KICK31.ROM - Which you can just chuck in the root folder.

Delete your old config files, since these will cause it not to run.

i'm sure he'd appriciate any feedback too. (link on my website)

its been updated to the newer version of the e-uae code.

its got tons of extra settings, including a rom selector.

its also a tad faster and more compatible... although i'm finding the sound to be more buggy than before.

Where do I get the missing files from?

Do I just need the eboot and kick roms?

Are the only changes in this version for non 1.5 firmwares?

oops... sorry i havent answered sooner mate.

you only need a PSPUAE\DISKS\ folder to put the adfs in for this version, and the roms in PSPUAE\ - although from what i've heard i cant guarentee it works on fw1.5 (only one person i have spoken to with 1.5 has tried, and failed) - it also seems very sketchy getting it to run on 2.01+ which i think its been compiled for.... but if you find a way to run it on 1.5 - let us know!

it is only a beta though, and the author has already stated that his priority is now to sort out the newly introduced stability problems before anything else.

whilst all the new functions look cool, it would be good if it were more reliable - even for a beta. nice to see work being done on it though.

nah, that was the last version. (0.41.1)

you're getting slack on reading back a few posts THB....

this one is updated to the latest vesion of the e-uae code.

as mentioned above its faster and more comaptilble. i've been giving it a whirl, and providing you dont mess with too many settings (theres clearly more than are needed at the mo... '060 setting?? get out!) its definately an improvement.

SWOS and Sensi Golf speeds are much improved.... that's keeping me happy.

the default sound setting (4 channel) is rubbish tho, and needs changing to mono to save your ears from bleeding.

E:\PSP\GAME\PSPUAE
E:\PSP\GAME\PSPUAE\KICK13.ROM
E:\PSP\GAME\PSPUAE\EBOOT.PBP
E:\PSP\GAME\PSPUAE\DISKS\BuggyBoy.adf

E:\PSP\GAME\PSPUAE%
E:\PSP\GAME\PSPUAE%\EBOOT.PBP

Just a black screen on firmware 1.5 and then back to the main PSP menu with no error message.

you probably need kick.rom as your default rom, and then the others (kick12 13 etc etc) simply for manual rom-changes mate.

Buggy boy is a classic

One of the first Amiga games I ever played (along with Populous and Robocop) and it had some play-time I'll tell ya :P

No I don't think you need to call it kick.rom. I only have one rom file in the PSPUAE directory and it's called kick13.rom.

@T_hairy_bootson: What rom are you using? I got the emulator working with an overdumped (the 512kB version) kickstart 1.3 rom. Try to switch rom and see if it makes any difference.

i stand corrected.

all the kick roms need to be in the root folder too if you want to switch between them (for some reason i was thinking that in an old beta they went in a \ROMS\ folder - but reading one of my old posts, i shoulda known better) ....

i am gettng away with using the 256k kick1.3 just fine myself.

i had one strange bug , but it caused a "nastier" crash than THB was/is getting.... for some reason the default options (which only switched in once they were slightly changed, and the emulator was reset) were set to Zero.kb memory all round.... this caused the whole program to freeze up when i returned to the emulation.

on that basis i would say check the settings... but clearly you arent even getting it running that far.

hmmm... re-install everything and experiment with other roms? i admit i'm pretty stumped, cos its working here. I could only make it not-work in the same way as yourself by messing about with the kickstart rom. (wrong name / location etc)

Works now with the overdumped kickstart. I really should have tried that first, UAE4ALL on the gp2x suffers the same problem.

Definately an improvent on the last version but still not very playable with sound. Lets hope work continues on this one.

While browsing YouTube i stumbled across this Video

[ Show youtube player ]

It seems to show PSPUAE 0.52 running Turrican 1 at very well playable speed (if it isnt fullspeed) The description claims that sound was disabled and frameskip was set to 1... seem they done a pretty good job with that eulator lately !
