I'm not asking you to release anything to the public for now. But just giving what you have to other people who want to patch the thing. I mean, just PM me the fixes is ok. But if you don't budge, i'll end up doing the patches myself like i did in the past. I might even start thinking that you don't release a thing simply because you have nothing at all to release, like the other guy. Quote:

Did it Finnished the game last night. One of the best Amiga games! It seems to be impossibly hard without a walktrough though. I just post, because i found out something to make it A LOT easier on Morag moon (in case someone is interested): Map function is disababled but if you cast spells like "find secret doors" you can have a look at the map anyway. At least in the german version (1.05).

The trick of casting a spell to see the map also works on 1.07 - hopefully.

I played this game to death in about 1998 and got to a point where i was flying around on an Eagle whilst trying to find an entrance to somewhere to something!? I can't quite remember now, but that was as far as i got after months of playing So in other words, i got stuck.
But yes, its a FANTASTIC game!!! |

It was one of those games that always had me wondering because i loved games from Thalion and also because it just looked so amazing! It probably goes down in Amiga gaming history as one of the greatest RPG's if not THE greatest on the Amiga! All these years later and i find out it was "you" who was responsible for me playing the game in English so THANK YOU Alexh You made me a VERY happy man back then! Just out of curiosity, are you "actually" from the developer Thalion itself!??? are you one of the Thalion guys? |

It was Thalion who were responsible. I just prompted them to dig out their disks and send it me.
I never knew them at the time. A long time Fan of Thalion, I worked with one between 1997/8 in London at Argonaut and our friendship is what sparked me to start the Thalion Webshrine. He introduced me to many of the Thalion team members through email etc. and I asked Eric Simon (the founder of Thalion) what happened to Ambermoon English and he said that it was made but never published and he had the one surviving copy and would I like to borrow it. (I still have it, should really have given it back!) |

Why do you play it in English (as a Swiss). The German version is the original?

Switzerland Languages:
German: 63.7% French: 20.4% Italian: 6.5% Rumantsch: 0.5% Others: 9% I'm from the French-speaking part (Western), between Geneva and Lausanne I've had (compulsory..) German lessons at school, I can kind of speak and read it, but not comfortably enough to enjoy a game...particularly a RPG! EDIT: a REAL Swiss? Beware..this is a sensitive topic |

Without any disrespect to the German language, it's also that there is more interest in learning English! Particularly when you're 5 years old and get your first grip on a computer
aber ich kann ein bisschen Deutsch sprechen...mindestens um mich mit Deutschen Mädchens zum befreunden but let's not deviate too much...this thread was about Ambermoon and I think I'm going to love this game! Last edited by Nostalgeek; 13 July 2010 at 19:12. |

When you have Ambermoon 1.07 EN, it may become interesting to apply a few patches. This game is very buggy but the most annoying bugs aren't difficult to fix.
http://meynaf.free.fr/tmp/amberpatch.lzx With the above patch you'll be able to play normally, up to the end. |
