[3] Game was originally released on 2 disks (REALM OF THE TROLLS), but budget and compilation versions were released on 1 disk (DOWN AT THE TROLLS).

i am installing both versions.
DATT is 2 disks version:
ROTT is one disk version

see to compare too:
http://www.softpres.org/?id=:games&gameid=3009
http://www.softpres.org/?id=:games&gameid=3010

So it's
[3] Game was originally released on 2 disks (DOWN AT THE TROLLS), but budget and compilation versions were released on 1 disk (REALM OF THE TROLLS).

ps:

There are 3 differents version

here we go :

Down at Trolls is a 2 disks game, and the first of the series (v1)
Realm of the trolls is a 2 disk game, and the revised version (v2)
Realm of the trolls 1 disk is the (v3), released in compilations and budget

Please check the disk scans, those on HOL are mine same for box scans.

Down at the Trolls is a _very_ rare game. The others are quite common.

I have the Top Shots budget 1-disk release of Realm of the Trolls, but the size of the main exec and other files are exactly the same as the 5th Anniversary compilation version you supported in the WHD beta you upped to the Zone.

I'm surprised that this game wasn't patched much earlier - great work and it's a real privilege Bertrand to have you back making WHDLoad patches again with such passion! Do you think you can persuade Harry, Bored Seal and Girv to come out of retirement now and start patching new games for the Amiga masses again??!!

It's a personal decision ...
Patching games takes a lot of time and energy.
Besides, I will doubtless take a break after my winter vacation.
(but not 15 years old this time if the corona monster doesn't catch me!)

You know that they changed the name "Down at the Trolls" to "Realm of the Trolls" to avoid making fools of themselves?

(I had a chat with one of the programmers of the ST version a few months ago)

I understand all too well....none of us are in our twenties anymore (like when we first owned an Amiga or discovered WHDLoad! ) and coding takes up much more precious time/energy that's eaten up now by work, family & other responsibilities that we didn't have in the 1980s/90s. I loved coding on the C64 in high school, but gave up any serious coding in the first half of the 90s a few years after I bought an Amiga while at uni. Coding was still fun on the Amiga, but hunting down bugs in code wasn't anywhere near as much fun when you could be out getting drunk and meeting women instead ()....and certainly once postgraduate uni. studies and work came along for me!!

Nevertheless, it would still be something special if one day we see the old guard of Harry, Bored Seal and Girv flex their coding muscles with a new WHDLoad patch or two!

it is not yet certain that I will go skiing in the Alps if the French government limits the circulation as in Italy because of the Corona virus.
The problem is that we are in the middle of the electoral period, it is very likely that the traffic restriction will occur after the election next week and I risk being blocked in the Alps !!!
