However, there's so many levels, it's madness trying to complete them all. I started landing on random planets and on the last one, there's a huge level guarded by some insanely large and powerful creatures. Once you get past them, there's a door you can open that reveals a guy sitting on a bench with a briefcase computer in his lap. I have no idea what to do after that, but if you kill the guy your screen turns to static...
After getting back into Captive here is the lowdown on this

When you finish the space station mission (mission 11) at the end the droids find RATT, but before they can free him someone breaks into his cell through the wall behind and grabs him.. This is where you start the next mission (10 planets and 1 space station)

Mystery solved and Captive is endless

I'm pretty sure (but my memory is not so reliable) that qwak have 10 scenarios, ten levels each.... after the 10th level of the 10th scenario, the game restart at 1st level of 1st scenario but level name is 101, 102, 103..... and so on.

Not an Amiga game (the topic doesn't state it has to be), but the excellent Silent Hill 1 has an endless story, although it is not apparent if you just play the game. Since you play the game for the story (and the quite unnerving atmosphere), I guess you can call it an endless game.

The first game you play, you wake up in your crashed car, follow your daughter through the mist, DIE at the hand of demon children, and then you wake up again in the diner. In every subsequent game (extended nightmare I think they call it), you just wake up in the diner, because that is where you are "resurrected" every time you would finish the game and start again. Basically the guy you play is stuck in an endless loop, because the game won't let you finish by letting the bad guys (women actually) win

If you didn't get that by playing it (I didn't even understand most of the story itself, damned Japanese masterminds!), read the lengthy plot guides on gamefaqs.com.

Very interesting! I'll have to get my hands on Silent Hill 1 sometime. I was playing "Silent Hill - The Room" recently and found it a bit too much for a late-night gaming session... that freaky mannequin sitting on the toilet was too unsettling at 2am. ;-) I've heard that in terms of scare factor, "The Room" is nothing compared to the prequels.

I found the original Silent Hill to be spooky but not really much more than that! never thought about it being endless.

For some more scary games (Amiga and other systems) check out ---> THIS <--- thread

Silent hill is far from being endless, it have a few endings.

Silent Hill 3 is the most scariest of them all.

Hey, nice thread.

I'd say: Major Motion.
Never found any end with this thing, even not when playing for hours ...
It got very repetitive after a while.

Non-Amiga: River Raid and Buck Rogers [SEGA] (both C64).
No end. Definitely.

adventures of robin hood.
well you can end the game in 1 min if you like by puting an arrow in the sheriffs back, but if you run around and rob the guards/merchants,gives the money to the poor(or vice versa),flirt with marion, get all the mery men, chase the dragon, kill the monks and just hanging around, then the game will go on forever.

I have never managed to complete it because in level 4 (thursday) I cannot go back to my coffin after killing all people, so I don't know ?!
If anyone has played it any further then please tell !

It's an end, kill the bastard and you've saved Nottingham from the dreadful sheriff. I think it's akin to ending your career very early on Pirates!, but I can't remember if you got scores or not.

Frontier has been mentioned, but what about the original Elite - one of the original "endless" games?

Faery Tale Adventure was endless for me, because I could never complete the damned thing. Kept getting wiped out by those ghosts.
