Thanks for the advice - don't think I still had rockets at this point though.
Looking forward to your scores! |

Those are really crazy. With 2 rockets its possible to move around them, but with 8 on screen there is no chance. The end of level 2 boss is a dragon, so not the same boss. |

EDIT: just to better clarify. 1.3b was a quick made version due to some request for the support of the new ADF. It lives as a superstrate of the Stingray's 1.2 version and completely support old Disk.1 with all the options and goodies. If you use the 100% ADF version (naming it Disk.1, or using the prepacked of The Zone!) the slave recognize it: it becomes in all respects like the floppy version, including the non-save of the hiscore (but you are sure that level 3 do not crash and other little details). EDIT2: some technicalities about level 3 crash. Game use a sprites (bobs) queue of fixed dimension for the display of objects on screen. There is a garbage collector that recycle and maintain the queue table under the specified dimension. But on level 3, on rare condition (enemies who follow you to the end of the world and "chained objects" enemies) you can end up overflow and write to some external pointers that lead to crash..... How to solve without ruining gameplay and with elegance? Well, an auto purge. The stubborn villains are forced to die of old age in a small burst Last edited by ross; 30 May 2018 at 11:31. Thanks a lot Ross for your help, I'm sure the new ADFs are essential for some players out there.
On Lemon there is talk about the option to retain weapons when you die, and the author himself is keen to update a few things in the game. Would you be able to help him? It would be too late to start using a modified version in this round of the competition, but we could use the new and improved competition edition/directors cut for the knockout. Do get in touch with Peter and talk about what is possible to fix this game up. Yes, saving the scores is also helpful even on a real amiga. |

I seem to remember that Peter no longer has the code. Sure some change in details can be done. Quote:

Sorry for my lack of activities but I have less time to play than in the good old days ... It's nice to see one of Ziriax's designers tell us about his game. Technically it's very good, better than Saint Dragon (portage arcade too ambitious for the Amiga), nice job By knowing better the mechanics of the game, it seems less insurmountable. I have gone several times against the three bosses of level 3 (with credits) but I have not yet managed to kill them for the moment. Last edited by rexsu; 04 June 2018 at 00:59. |

I can't get to the level 3 boss. The middle section of level 3 sees a screen filled with weapons fire and I just can't either shoot or dodge enough of it to continue.

It helps to have 6 or 7 lives The weapons n°2 (back fire) and n°3 (rocket) are the most important in this level. |

is it still against the rules to use filters for the screenshots ? |

That was never against the rules.
It only applies to the "Guess the screenshot"-thread. |

I retired early as I think I'd need autofire to get further without busting up my hands. Happy with my score, though, hopefully others can shore up the EAB side a bit.

I was playing on a real Amiga with a controller. The autofire on that is slower than holding down the button.
Just to try it I switched to WinUAE and on my first attempt, without having played for two weeks, sailed effortlessly to the end of level 2. I dunno, man, that rate of fire totally feels like cheating. 257,870 |

Snuck in a second go this evening and got to level 3. It's a lot easier to focus on dodging without having to mash the fire button! |

I reached the last level (with credits). I faced a boss who got excited at the end as if I had insulted his mother Finally, by spending a little time on this excellent game, we can perhaps complete it! |

With credits I kill the 1st boss of the last level. I don't know how is the final boss but I feel we can finish this game, at least with credits. Here my new score: 626,010 |
