Simple KVM switcher question.
Hi,
I've recently started to use a KVM switch to switch between peecee and Amiga (VGA adapter), and have found it only to work when one of the switch's USB cables is plugged into the peecee. Obviously this is to power the switch (it has no power connector). My question is this: How easy is it to power the switch using one of the USB cables without plugging it into the peecee? I'd like to know, because the switch doesn't work when my peecee is turned off. Any suggestions are appreciated |

It's very easy. Just use +5V and GND from the power supply and connect it to the respective lines of an USB cable.

This is why I prefer the AC Adapter powered units instead, no PS/2 or USB power for the switch to function properly
Of course these types of units cost a bit more. Let us kno how the 5vdc trick works out... |
