List updated but fix dat still it's not.
For a Vulcan games I've made also raw dumps several years ago but we all know why IPF has not been released so far. |

Seems bizarre that 'non duplicated' games are not considered preserving as IPF just because they were 'copied' not 'professionally' duplicated, but if that's how the game was distributed originally then it should be preserved!

At least we have 'temporary' IPF's from Denis, unfortunatley those can't be shared until they are made 'official' by IFW or whoever OK's the dumps for preservation as IPF!

So what? As BarryB has said; that's how the games were originally distributed by the publisher / developer; there's no getting around this.
SPS team need to change their rules and allow games that fit this criiteria It's absolute madness currently... |

@Denis: Did you say once that you analyser only recognises dumps from 'Trace' machines as being duplicated and that a disk 'could' have been duplicated commercially but on another system that's not supported in the analyser yet? That's why disks sometimes shows as 'not duplicated' like most Dinamic releases?
I think you've mentioned your analyser does show if a disk has been 'copied' on a consumer drive so is this the case with Timekeepers, copied on an Amiga then boxed and sold? @DamienD: I guess this is why most commercial shareware/licenceware disks will never make it as 'official IPF? |

Right this is not PRESERVATION, but only PSEUDOPRESERVATION. In Poland perhaps all (or maybe almost all) games/programs was copied only. Even with trackdisk protections.

Seems strange to me that only one Vulcan game was accepted by the SPS team. And it was the second in the series.

More strange for me is why Snow Bros was preserved? Was not mastered with industrial machine. Cant be official IPF, because break the rules. Yes, it was master copy. But copied Amiga DOS games without trackdisk protection are also master copy. All unmodified Amiga DOS games are master copy.

Problem is we have no idea what 'state' the current SPS team are at, have they created more official IPF's since the last update (if so which platform and titles) but haven't yet updated their online Games database or is the project just stagnating?
We need some transparency and honesty about what state SPS is in, they keep saying it's a 'hobby' project and only 'pro' licences fund development but then propose plans for new Draft format, IPF scripting, a new DTC Studio but still no clear timeline for those to happen after years of their announcement |

Here's a quick one that knocks the number of MIA releases down to 30 - IPF of SpaceJob_1431.....in the Zone. Enjoy! Quote:

Denis, did I ever send you my v2.22 of Time Bandit? Seems mine has no protection track and only Krazy Kev on the high score, so might be an unmodified copy!

Final Fight US Gold [1329].
I have this as an IPF but it's start screen is different to HOL and another screen says: Final Fight (TM) (c) 1991 Capcom USA Inc. Is the US Gold version available as an IPF? |
