Yes - the other version from Jimbos (and believe this or not) was in English the first time I ran it - changed the dudes in there and reset it then realised I hadn't done the new adventure bit and it came back in german!
Weird! |

right... that is bizarre...
I've never played the game so I'd have no idea to recreate this.. but it sounds like an error in the game or slave or something! |

Well I have found a lot of strange things out about this game.
1. On PlanetEmu the Chaos Strikes Back section is crazy. The games are in the wrong order (i.e. Utility is Disk 1) and on one disk is Charlie Chimp. 2. Disk 2 on KG install is German, Disk 1 is Multi Language. 3. The WHDLoad install does not install the game properly on any of the images from PlanetEmu - however this may be because they have disked one and two mixed up - I'll test that tonight. M. |

Think I have it sorted - just upping the two disks which you should be able to replace on your install in the data directory. I couldn't get disk 1 to work so I'm going to use the one in KG's archive.
Disk.3 is the save disk with the high level characters on there. M. |

Have you tested it properly now and got full english? If so, could you reupload it to the zone, I didn't download it |

Oh and it's fully tested - well tested as far as I can get - no bugs yet been through all four zones up to yet.

Does anyone have a Full English WHDLoad install of this that they could upload to the zone or know where it's available to download please.
Any version that I try, the game is in English but the Utility Disk is in german I believe. Hope someone can help, Cheers. |

Have uploaded an English WHDLoad install from my original disks! It's multi language but the Utility disk is English. Also, you need to have XPK and the XPKGzip compressor installed or else disk.3 (save disk) won't load.
Read the original readme in the archive as I got a bit lost on how to actually run this as it mentions you might need to run the installer again and import the save disk? |

I picked up the original game but for some reason my utility disk is in german , I know there are 3 releases in English which I could download and use, but unsure if they are protected or not, they don't appear to be, but reads that it is on the disk. My Game disk is also version 3.5 and doesn't appear to work with WHDLoad, it just hangs on the title screen. Anyway, thanks again for this, sure I'll get it sorted now. |

BarryB, I can't seem to get past the language selection screen in your version, which indeed is different than the old KG preinstalled one.
Utility disk works great though. To get rid of further confusion, I have upped three new archives to my WHD folder, one marked English, German and French. I shamefully "lifted" your english utility disk and added that to the old archive. Last edited by Retroplay; 03 January 2014 at 13:42. |

Yep, same problem for me. Wonder if a new slave needs writing? This version is the one from the Psygnosis release of Dungeon Master. No matter if I set Custom2=3 for the savegame disk and run the Utility Disk it always wants a disk in DF1: when making a new adventure? If I just run the game, after selecting the language the game accesses DF0:, even if I put the original disk in before selecting the language it sticks there so have to quit with PrtScr!! If I boot from the original disk, it shows the Dungeon Master logo then loads to the language select and finally loads to the Enter/Resume screen. Is this a version the slave doesn't support? |

The ones I added works though, the slave probably needs an update to support your version.
Have a look on the FTP in my WHDLoad folder for these: ChaosStrikesBack&EnglishUtilityDisk_v1.1.lha ChaosStrikesBack&FrenchUtilityDisk_v1.1.lha ChaosStrikesBack&GermanUtilityDisk_v1.1.lha They boot and work past language selection screen. |
