You mean the one with 'new' in the lower right corner? I could post a working disk/config pack if you are interested marco?

Okay in the zone
Note that the controls are a bit weird. You have to use the mouse and the keyboard or joystick to control the game. I have no manual so I can't exactly explain you how it works, but moving the joystick up/down accelerate or brakes your ship. Left/right is used for the rotation of the ship. Clicking the right mousebutton enters the 'action' mode in which you aim with the mouse and fire with the left button. I hope this will get you started

Hi,

@Graham Humphrey : I think I was distracted by the negative comments. The game is intriguing inmho & a bit 'scary' in the sense used by TCD, because of the shallow presentation & original concept.

Here are some of the game controls.

Keyboard controls :
  • Space bar: toggles between main screen and full screen mode
  • F performs a flip--turns the craft around
  • C activates the `E.C.M`
  • Tab toggles betwen normal and enhanced vision
  • T starts the turbo or shuts it down
  • B starts the auto docking sequence(you must be stationary and in
  • access mode to dock)
  • A arms atomic sledghammer

Extras info screens controls:
  • E displays energy
  • D displays damage control
  • M displays map
  • W dispalys the weapons
  • S displays the datbase grid(note you cannot display the grid whilst
  • in reverse view)
  • V reverses the view
  • + increases the throttles(on keyboard..Not numeric)
  • - decreases .............(........................)
  • Space or right mouse button--exits from extra info screen
  • Arrows up and down...Cycles through weapons
  • <> rolls the craft left or right
  • F3 toggles the sight on/off in the center of the targeting
  • window
  • F10 aborts the game
  • Amiga keys pauses the game

Magic Fly WHDLoad version 0.02 in The Zone.
  • separate 512k and 1Mb chipmem versions
  • extended delay between options screen and intro

Can someone (anyone!) else test this so I can release it? Thanks

If you allow me Girv :

Magic Fly v1 WHDload
is out.
It should be more easily playable under WinUAE (the looping animation from the intro has been slowed down) & game progress is saved on the HD.

As for the ADF version which can be used before the WHD repack from KG is out, apparently TCD had it posted to the zone.

Thanks.

I didn't notice Girv had made both the installed 512k & 1 Meg versions available on his web site.

Grab them while they're hot or you may prefer to wait for the KG repacks. The choice is yours.

I think the 1 Meg version has enhanced sound.
I wish someone made a video capture out of this one just to let people see what the ship can do, and how...

Anyway, it must have been a tricky slave to code.
Congrats Girv !

Tricky enough finding the timing code for the intro loop, but otherwise it wasn't too bad. Enjoy!
