First of all, Gnostic, I'm glad to see your work on PUAE. It's really nice that someone finally picked up the torch. :-)

Can I maybe convince you to use commit messages that say something about the changes you actually make?
It's harder to follow what you're doing (I have to read every single commit) with just the version you're working on in the commit message. :-)

Furthermore, is there some kind of roadmap? I see what you're doing after the fact but I'm, e. g. hesitant to work on the Qt GUI because I've no idea if you're not maybe already into it or when you plan to work on it.

Meaningful commit messages and having an idea what general area you're working on or when you plan (yes, plans can change, no problem) makes it easier for others to contribute, too, and avoids duplication of efforts.

Thanks for your work and maybe some of the above minor niggles can be addressed? :)

I'm still getting yellowish colors
Has someone tested it on a 64bit Linux?

stopping the emulator

Hello.

Thanks for the good work.
Is there a way to exit (kill) the emulator with the keyboard in case the game doesn't work right, or you just want to stop the game/emulator?
I want to include the amiga emulator in my arcade cab.

From which platform? Mac has Cmd-Alt Q and there is one on linux but I cannot recall the mapping - check the docs...

Philanthrop - drop Mustafa a mail and you'll find him exceptionally helpful! I think he'd love someone to concentrate on the Qt side as he prefers the hardcore hacking side of things... No doubt you've seen how much of the Qt interface is already done, so it's 'just' a case of plumbing things together

Hello all.

I have PUAE running on Ubuntu 10.10.
But so far i only get a windowed screen, and it doesn 't "catch" the mouse.
So; how do i get full-screen, and how do i exit (kill) the emulator?
The docs say F12-Q to quit, but it doesn 't work, at least not in windowed PUAE.

Basically, you need to edit .uaerc files for the moment...

I know, but if I set "cachesize=8192" (in example), then PUAE will crash (all versions previously). I create all configs with Hi-Toro. For E-UAE these configs will work. For PUAE they don't work with the JIT settings.

Try cachesize=8
(Mustafa is experimenting with this stuff, it seems )

Do not use stuff from hi-toro... a lot of the legacy stuff simply isn't supported or will cause problems.

I just gave this a try on my Mac and it's fantastic! I love having access to all the settings along the menu bar.

The only request I have is to be able to create custom keyboard mappings for the joystick. I tend to use the cursor/alt config, but would prefer to use the left alt instead of the right.

You can do that from the config file... Not ideal, but it's coming along.
PUAE is, I believe, a viable alternative to WinUAE on parallels/WINE/VMWare/...

Please give it a damn good exercise and report bugs as requested above!

Aint really had anything to play around with this yet.

If anyone has a binary for Ubuntu10.10 (Meerkat) I'ld appreciate it... when following the "recipe" for howto build yourself, the compiler always ends in a fatal error and aborts for me

I see some keyboard "bugs". On the Mac I don't get ",;.:-_" and some other special keys to work. Is there a config option to set "raw keymapping" like in E-UAE?

It would be cool, to know all the possible config options for the uaerc file to setup a custom config file. In PUAE menu bar I can set, i.e., as CPU the 68030 processor. But if I set this as config option PUAE always use 68000.

Good catch. Goodness only knows how I've missed that... It seems non-alpha characters are just ignored.

As a test, I've hard coded raw keymapping into the prefs config reader routine and it still does not recognise a load of characters. Bug raised
