He was a good composer of actual classical music as well, even though he is mostly known for his incidental works.

Awwww A large part of what makes Once Upon a Time in the West my favorite movie of all time is definitely the epic music. I'm definitely saddened by this.

(OT - general is probably the best subforum to put a topic like this).

Great musician. Until very recently, I had his music as my ringtone. Some timeless classics... RIP.

I read that he passed away due to complications following from breaking his leg...

I really hate to see people get to a ripe old age and then still pass away because of what should be a trivial matter It sounds a little morbid maybe, but it's like almost reaching the finishing line to win a marathon and then tripping.

R.I.P Ennio Morricone, had a big impact on me when I was younger when I first saw the "Dollar" trilogy. Always respected and loved his soundtracks. He's left us with some amazing music.

The music he did for the Spaghetti Westerns is incredible and iconic.

I also liked the theme he did for "The Mission"...

Sorry, those are the ones I most closely identify with Morricone. I'm sure they did others.
