Incredible. Must feel very special Chucky... Do you think he'll be taking a look at the board to feedback or to use for restoration of his own Amiga?

Well done Chucky and Dave Haney. You delivered, next time I should of asked for 4k HD, 200fps mpg
Does Dave say anything like what the A3000 would have had before economic restrictions? Was the finished A3000 the origional design or were there modifications and cut backs added to it? I read in an interview that AmigaOS was the first OS to be ported to Motorolas 68040. Great luck with the A3000 replacement, I have an A1200 and I would like to get a A3000 seems to be my dream amiga, but the prices are going up and up and will continue |

Great video! The camera you used to view the circuit board up close what is that? I'm just thinking if I used that to solder I'd hopefully be better and ensuring no bridged connections lol.
I didn't see you put flux on in the video unless I missed it or do you not use flux? |

Chucky just a thought... why not have something to rest edges of board on so it is kept afloat and less likely to wobble on the desk. You're very good at the holding and soldering at rapid pace! That soldering iron stays in your hand whilst you turn the board and I know for sure I'd probably burn myself if I tried lol.

I'm in the middle of building one of these boards and so far so good. Have hit a delay as I want to socket all of the DIL chips and Farnell who I ordered the 20 pin sockets from has had a cock up and the order is delayed. I do have a couple of quick questions and an observation.
The mounting hole for the SIMM socket is a bit too near the side of the board, I had to snip off the plastic mounts from the sockets to get the pins into board. Regarding the 3 SPLD's, I tried rmeovig the 16V8's on my dead A3000 nboard but the chips are giving garbage when I'm trying to read them on my TL866-II programmer(May be why the board was dead) IS there a link anywhere to the jedec code so I can flash the new ones properly? |
