Matt's Syndicate review

Remember Bullfrog's Syndicate action/strategy hybrid of 1993? This week's "Matt Chat" covers the history of this fantastic cyberpunk game. Thanks for watching, and looking forward to reading your comments.

P.S. I've been trying to add these videos to iTunes for all the iPhone and iPod folks out there. If you'd like to check it out, click here.

Matt I look forward to your reviews and this one as always is quality stuff.

Just one thing. If you could reply on youtube directly to the commenter bypressing reply next to their post instead of replying at the bottom. Kinda makes it hard to follow the flow of who you are replying to sometimes.

Edit: I apologise Matt, it seems I was viewing the comments un expanded and it was just showing your replies without the questions...

Carry on... nothing to see here...

Love the videos. Is it really necessary to show the full intro every time though? I'd rather see more playtime footage. 10 mins is a short time to show what a game is about.

Great review as always Matt , but this time can't say much about it, since I never really played that game. Maybe one day...

Most 'series' reviewers have an intro like plankton said and I don't really mind it. In the earlier episodes there was an element one could mention, but since it's gone I won't do so

I played the Amiga version of this game a lot but never completed it...

Certain elements of the game; like the research option and the persuadertron were excellent features and the cold blooded ruthlessness of some of the missions was quite shocking at the time as well!
I hated the fact that you could not see inside the buildings!

I only ever knew one Amiga version... there never was an AGA version released was there?

For me, Cannon Fodder was more fun but there is no getting away from just how important Syndicate was in the scheme of things.

On another matter - I think that seeing the game intro is great - rather that than see more character set up screens and it is difficult to show later game levels unless you have saved positions...

Nice Video Matt, Cheers!

Syndicate is a brilliant game, I played and completed the Amiga version "back in the day" and loved every minute of it.

Lucky you. I was at 80% of the missions I think, but I got stuck in some level where I couldn't reach the objective for one reason or another. Sometimes the buggers just moved into locations where it was impossible to follow them.

Ha, that TV commercial is hilarious. So generic looking!

When you guys mention the "intro" being too long, are you talking about the "Matt Chat" theme intro, or the little movies/intros from the individual games? I would like to make a shorter "matt chat" intro, but it took me a very long time and a lot of work to make this one, and I'm loathe to change it. Maybe when I hit episode 50 or the like I'll feel compelled to remake it. The next one will definitely be shorter (thinking maybe 20 secs tops).

I was talking about (and I think the others were also) the game intro... not the Matt Chat theme intro.
