A600 battery trouble
Ok, here I'm again with another battery trouble. actually this happened a while ago but I was too lazy to take a pic and post it. As idiot as I am, I forgot to remove the battery on my lovely 1meg ram expansion for my a600. Although it looked in great shape when I got it, it decided to leak in a few months, killing the ram board in the procedure. fortunately I use the a600 quite often so I noticed the leak before it did any significant damage. However the board is still dead. I guess it is not actually because of the battery leak, but because of my improper handling when I noticed the leak and removed the board from the a600 in a hurry. When I was removing the board for cleaning, I felt a jolt in my finger when I touched some part (the solder points beneath the board). You can see it circled in red in the picture. Can somebody tell me what is this item ? I hope I only damaged this item and not anything else on the board.

Please confirm my findings as i could be wrong.
I belive you are looking for a KDS3B (osilator) there should be a frequencey on the back of this unit. a place for possible replacement is http://www.class-ic.com/parts/s6077.html hope it helps. although possible I dont think its likely that this component would be damnaged from human grounding I fear that it maybe time to get that multimeter out coze |
