Vektor Storm, Best Amiga Tempest Clone?
I don't recall too many Tempest clones on the Amiga, not even in the PD scene but this one surly deserves a mention, Vektor Storm.
One thing I do like is the warp sequence after you've completed a stage, you do see it much more clearly on a CRT TV which is what I play my stuff through but even on LCD/LED screens it still looks cool, it also contains boss fights. The title screen is pumping loud rock which made me jump for the volume control as it really is loud but it does get you geared up for the game, the game It'self Isn't brilliant but as far as I can see It's the best Tempest experience you'll get on the Amiga,...unless there's one I haven't seen before. The only thing I do not know though is if it was commercially released as I cannot find any artwork of box pics so maybe it was released as a PD game in the end and if that's the case then It's a bloody good one. How do you enter the level codes?, I want to play the later levels and I have codes to do that but there's nowhere to enter them, I cannot find any instruction manual.

I have a couple of copies of Pursuit to Earth - posted about on EAB earlier this quarter. Tempest 1200 (Demo PD) looks good too.

Decent home versions of Tempest are a rarity I think, the official one was terrible on the Spectrum. Feels quite good from a quick play, nice presentation with good intro music, though the ship response is a bit sluggish. Must've been one of the last Amiga-only American games, and Inovatronics' only venture into games rather than serious software.
