Thumbs down OT: X-Box and Diablo x

Maybe it's just because I hate microsoft, or because I had a bad day at the office, but finding so much x-box and diablo blather on the best Amiga forum existing made my day even worse...

Sorry, but 'so much blather about Diablo X'? There just some posts in 'What are you playing' and Diablo 2 is 7 years old, so what's wrong with that?

Luca
One of the reason I missed all xBox soft modding and emulation was exactly M$. Huge mistake, imho.

At least you didn't mention Dreamcast...

One of us must be using the wrong drugs: I'm sure in the last day three x-box and one diablo3 threads have been posted in the "Retrogaming general discussion" forum.

Anybody is free to play whatever he likes, I'm just an ageing amiga fan!
IMHO, microsoft should be mentioned only in the "OT - Stupidity" forum!

Back in topic: I can't wait anymore for my Indivision AGA. Serious retroplaying starts NOW!

It is, but is it retro? Games such as Fable and Jade Empire aren't really retro, yet. Same aplies to the Playstation2 and games such as Final Fantasy 12 (released in 2007). Just my opinion

It's not really Retro now. Give it another 3 years to mature into that But like Dizzy said it can be used as a platform to play Retro games. I wonder why I haven't seen a thread about the PSP here yet... (I'm sure somebody will find one now ).

They don't sell xBox (original) or games in major stores here in USA (not sure about other parts of the world) so imho that makes it retro.

You still can buy PS2 and games for GBA for example. (there is topic about those games as well)

Yesterday I played galaga and phoenix on xBox. Is that retor yet? (arcade games )

So Burnout Reveng on Xbox is retro while on ps2 it's not

I think it's difficult to say if a thing is retro or not when talking about stuff that is less than 10 years old

Actually Dizzy it sort of makes a quirky sense in that the Xbox is no longer being sold or produced for sale. You can find some used and/or refurbs from various online sources but you can still find the PS2 being sold new along side it's PS3 sibling.

I think the discusssion is more about the game, in your case Burnout Revenge, which I have for my Xbox as well, and how it plays and/or looks on the Xbox vs. the PS2.

I like the fact you can mod the hell out of the original Xbox to give it EMU capabilities and using it as an Xmame box is a nice idea

As for the Playa Hatin on Microsoft, well sure, that's bound to happen.

I work for a company that uses/shares both Windows, Linux(CentOS & Red Hat) along with a new device we use running something called pfSense which is a modified version of Monowall that runs on a BSD and is powered by a 433MHz AMD Goede CPU on an ALIX board that is completely headless.

Now how's that for completly OT

I guess it's a matter of opinion whether you consider it retro or not. Everyone sees these things differently - I don't think it is yet personally but some think it is and as has been said - you can use emulators and the like too so I don't have a problem with it personally. As long as the whole forum isn't taken over by it I don't mind

When you say "Coin Ops" do you mean an XBOX version of MAME? I recently got the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection and it doesn't include Alpha 3. Forgive the newb question. I'm still getting the hang of the XBOX.
