Actually you can do this same thing with a pretty simple sentence and Bablefish. Just translate the sentence a few times from say English or German to start then go thru a few language translations and then finally back to the native tongue it was first written in. You'll notice your sentence has morphed a bit

In the future all games will be clones of Tunnels of Armageddon.

All games are still going towards the plopper.

A spinning mirror is the display of the future? It's a real good technique to display holographic information and the ability to walk around them is awesome, but how can that have an effect on games?
Nonetheless a very interesting find Dastardly. |

I'm not scared about the fine Nintendo products, I'm scared about the new generation of gamers themselves. They are literally destroying the market with their idiotic demands of more graphics and less gameplay.

Haven't that been like that for the last 10 years or so? Haven't that even increased the market? It's not that I'm much into this hardware 'mayhem', but since Doom was released there was ever a increase in the hardware demand for games. The quality in average has decreased however and the 'clones' and 'series' have taken the lead. The Wii is a good alternative to the normal stereotype gaming, but only because you control games in a different way it doesn't mean they are better. I don't know what I expect from newer games, but I always search for new ideas or at least a new mixture of old ideas

Now skip to today. Gears of War is a big hit, people rave about the graphics. And then Gears of War 2 is announced, with early screenshots. I see the screenshots and think "looks very nice!". I read other comments on the net: "it looks terrible!". Why? Because the graphics look only slightly better than those of Gears of War 1 :s |

I only buy games that look interesting to me and try to get a opinion by someone I know that have played the game. I'm fed up with spending 50 € on a game the press or some blogger praised and it bores/pisses me. There might be a lot of new games out there that I would like to play, but I'm not eager to play each and every game anymore. Maybe I play COD 4 in a year or so when it's budget and I even try Crysis for 10 € when a 8800 GTS costs about 100 €. I stay a little behind and save a lot of money. That is what I learnt through my gaming career

I believe the game industry will mass explore MMORPG. single players like me, will eventually have to readapt...thats already a big step for me, i guess i will start replaying the old titles...
MMORPG games have infinite content and discard the idea that a game should have an END. Neverending games with montly fee that keep people addicted are just another form of Toxicodependency imho. |

Because we probably lose the atmospheric/complex single player games one day. I've read that Alone in the Dark 5 could be Atari's last (and crap) single player game.
This Wii stuff is fun for a few minutes with some friends, but i still prefer games with more content. Never tried this MMORPG stuff, nothing for me. Can't image that i would enjoy this hectic gameplay. For multiplayer: I like the Bomber Man series or some fighting sessions with Capcom/SNK games. And you course the good old Sensible Soccer. |
