Lightbulb EAB Post Related Videos

To,

The Moderators/Maintainers

Would it be a viable option to have either a EAB Video section or an addition to attachments/uploads to add a video clip to a post?

For example: As I've tried to do in another Post, I've used You Tube instead to demonstrate something pertaining to a topic. Just that YT is a bit of a long winded approach.

Just a thought.

Paul.

Yea i think a link to youtube is enough. Lets keep this board as clean as it is now.

I also think embedded videos are really not needed or wanted. An idea for a additional tag would be a collapse or spoiler tag, so you can embed screenshots in them and they don't slow down the initial page load. The difference between this and using a thumb is you don't have to open another tab to view the picture

you'd use that once in a lifetime probably, however.

and that one time it would be wrong

You know these threads where people post 10 pics or more and if you want to read the last post you either have to wait for the pictures to load or permanently scroll down while the pictures load.
Anyway, sometimes I think you are just against innovation in general marco

Yup, a real pain in the butt... Imagine how annoying it is for people who are still using dial-up (as quite a few Australian members are)

We should all try to use thumbnails where possible when posting images or atleast resize the images manually before posting

Have a look here : http://www.zybez.net/community/index...wtopic=1113086
Look for the 'Expand / Collapse' with the '+' in front. Imagine that with pictures inside I think that beats thumbnails

So the pictures don't download until you expand the area? If so then this would be cool indeed

let me get this straight: i'm not against innovation. just when it doesn't suits my lazyness.

however, i don't like the collapse thing when thumbnails are involved. i love thumbnails.
the collapse thing in the exemple thread makes those posts ininfluent to the passing sight, whereas when you read, you want to get involved in the rhytm of the read.

i don't want neither my attention to be clobbered with big images or embedded crap nor be baffled by hypertextual self hiding stuff.
thumbails are a perfect middle at that, and they are even a newish (relatively) add to this board.

however, not a big problem: if RCK will eventually add that feature i simply will not use it

I see your point marco. I saw it on another forum and thought it might be a useful addition here. Well let's see what RCK thinks about it
