What about uploader simply upload his material without telling you where to move it ?

Is that not allowed then ?

It does not matter now since everything is reverted.

My idea was that things, AFTER everything we have there now was sorted, if you upload stuff and don't tell anyone, it would be deleted after a set time or something.

The idea was that everything uploaded MUST be approved before it was made available by someone else. The approval in this case was to move it outside the ~Uploads folder either by me or a future FTP moderator.

Back to Dark Souls III for me =)

Yeah Relax mate, He can't own every piece of Amiga Software. His software is shite anyway. I heard he nearly had a sale once but it fell through because the P&P was more than the Software was worth

I see what you are trying to do i principal its a good idea, i think some people like to have their own folder with stuff that people can access, for example my cd32 discs, if i update a pack i can personally delete the last version and upload the new, if everything got moved that wouldnt be possible, well not without pestering you everytime i wanted something moving and replacing.
Which fair enough you offer to do, but personally i think its great the way it is, its not messy imo, seperate folders in the upload folder seems pretty tidy to me!
Maybe give people who consistantly upload banned stuff to their folder a warning, 3 warnings and just ban their ip?
Anyway great job, hope you keep it as is, but upto you of course.

Yes, I find it extremely silly to complain about old Amiga software that nobody is going to pay for anyway, but hes in his full right to complain and demand it to be removed.
Firstly; sorry if this post seems a little heated. It's definitely not directed at your Turran. I know we all really appreciate that you host this stuff for the good of the community

Ok so...we all know who the person is. Grrrrr

He only comes on EAB to post news threads about a certain magazine that nobody gives a toss about

I'm sure everyone knows not to upload any of his company's software; the EAB rules even had to be amended many moons ago as he kicked up such a fuss. Let's be honest; this is abided by but sometimes things slip through the net...

Ok, big deal. He PM's you and it's removed. No need for him to threaten legal action, blah, blah, blah... I mean; who does that?!?

Anyway, I don't see why everything needs to be changed though just because of some twat who seems to think that people will still buy his crappy games.

Actually, there is a system in place for that but its only used for Retroplay at the moment and the \Commodore_Amiga\Retroplay directory. He has full access in there so he can update/delete/move it around.

If you want your CD32 disks in another location and have full access to that dir, we could solve that the same way =) If you're happy to just have your upload folder, as is, thats fine too of course.

Is it possible I can get full access to the GameBase Amiga directory, as I'm quite often replacing files.

Inside /Commodore_Amiga/GameBase Amiga 2 ?
And be sure to login with Belgarath =)

Added overwrite permissions as well. Usually you delete the old files and put the new ones there, but give it another go.

I'm having a problem logging into The EAB server through Filezilla. The mirror site works O.K though.

See attached pic.....

According to that you're using a generic account and there's 20 people on already hence why you can't get on. Just tried using my own account and using filezilla and had no problem.

Yup, working here too Arnie.

As Belgo says; just use your actual account instead of a generic one

Great setup, but I just tried searching for "Green 5" and the results page had the old ugly EAB wibble-wobble snow GIF displayed at the top of the results page, instead of the improved version that is now used on EAB at Xmas.

(Why the snow image is there when we are in May now is also questionable )

P.S. If anyone has the full version of Green 5 please send it to me. It doesn't seem to be on the server

Hey there Lonewolf10,

I've found that the EAB File Server search doesn't always bring back everything unfortunately

HOL says the following:

Quote:
The demo is disk 1 of the four disks of the full version.
You can find these under "Commodore_Amiga" --> "TOSEC [2016-01-03]" --> "Commodore Amiga - Games - Public Domain - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2015-12-28_CM)":

... Green Five (1994)(Judge, Mike)(SW-R)(Disk 1 of 3)[AMOS].zip
... Green Five (1994)(Judge, Mike)(SW-R)(Disk 1 of 3)[h Software 2000][AMOS].zip
... Green Five (1994)(Judge, Mike)(SW-R)(Disk 1 of 3)[m doscopy][AMOS].zip
... Green Five (1994)(Judge, Mike)(SW-R)(Disk 1 of 3)[m2 doscopy][AMOS].zip
... Green Five (1994)(Judge, Mike)(SW-R)(Disk 2 of 3).zip
... Green Five (1994)(Judge, Mike)(SW-R)(Disk 3 of 3).zip

I presume that it's only 3 disks as one disk is just the demo so left out; but really just a guess...

Many thanks DamienD

I think the reason why it didn't find it was because I was seaching for "Green 5", not "Green Five".

I originally searched for "green" and it wasn't found (when it should have been)...

...so I then searched my HDD with the complete TOSEC collection to find the location before heading over to the EAB file server

That's the account I've always used. I've never been refused access.
Surely there have been more than 20 users logged on at any one time or have I just been lucky these past couple of years?
