Nope. I am not going to waste my time for so pointless reason. Overlay is also pointless feature in my opinion.

You have two choices:

a) I'll copy current behavior to D3D9 path, if it works as you expected, great. If not: tough luck, it is not going to change.

b) You test it in D3D11 mode and report any issues and when it is correct/what you expected, then I'll convert it to D3D9 path. Everyone is happy.

D3D9 works totally different, I am going to the conversion only once with or without possible bugs/misfeatures. Anything more: not going to happen for free.

The Led Lights are black. I use the Exact same Image Resolution from Post. For a Quick Moment, a Millisecond, is the DF0 Led "White" and then Black. This happend when finish the Workbench is booted.

Do you see something like this in the log? (you can use -log command line to see it in realtime but don't use fullscreen mode)

Overlay: 'd:\amiga\plugins\overlays\a500_overlay.png' 3840*2160 (205*51 - 803*490) (598*439)
Overlay LED: 'd:\amiga\plugins\overlays\a500_overlay_power_led.png' 3840*2160 -> 135*52 (3336*572 - 3470*623)
Overlay LED: 'd:\amiga\plugins\overlays\a500_overlay_df0_led.png' 3840*2160 -> 65*52 (3295*2000 - 3359*2051)
Overlay LED: 'd:\amiga\plugins\overlays\a500_overlay_df1_led.png' 3840*2160 -> 65*53 (3289*1290 - 3353*1342)

Oh, i tried in Full-Window and now in Window only. (DX11/ HardwareDx11) and yes, my miscmatsch. I'm using the Winuae 4000b1 from other Thread. and i missed the suffix _LED in the Filenames.

Now it works. Now it needs a bit of fine tuning. For the strength of the light depending on how the drive reads.

great

Edit:
Using
WinUAE 4.0.0 (Public Beta 1, 2018.04.14) (6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 [1]) 64-bit 9.
15.1301 2 15:13 0

I See in my log:
Overlay: 'd:\WinUAE_WHDload_Template\vAmiga\plugins\overlays\a500_Overlay.png' 3
840*2160 (278*69 - 1085*663) (807*594)
Overlay LED: 'd:\WinUAE_WHDload_Template\vAmiga\plugins\overlays\a500_Overlay_po
wer_led.png' 3840*2160 -> 135*52 (3336*572 - 3470*623)
Overlay LED: 'd:\WinUAE_WHDload_Template\vAmiga\plugins\overlays\a500_Overlay_df
0_led.png' 3840*2160 -> 65*52 (3295*2000 - 3359*2051)
Overlay LED: 'd:\WinUAE_WHDload_Template\vAmiga\plugins\overlays\a500_Overlay_df
1_led.png' 3840*2160 -> 65*53 (3289*1290 - 3353*1342)

Snap take from Winuae

Nice. I'll probably wait few betas before adding D3D9 support.

btw, because leds are drawn using alpha blending (which GPU does practically for free), it is possible to add small "glow" around the led if you want by changing led image transparency.

Marty2AGA - That does look really good. Love the very sight bedroom reflection in the screen as well
Out of interest how tricky would it be to stack the LEDs like the following, so it takes up less horizontal 'real estate'? :

That's not difficult to stack.

The top row remains for example and all that is taken out are the LED lights and come separately in a single png image.

Hope I did not misunderstand you now?

I updated and uploaded my overlays today. There you can see how this is done. All my overlays, bezels are based on Mame / Mess. I have now updated the for WinUAE and included LED Lights..

Simple LED Overlays for the A500/A600/A1200 in WinUAE

Simple LED Overlays for the A500/A600/A1200 in WinUAE

Since the introduction of WinUAE 4.0 Beta 11, Power led dim config option is now integer (0 = fully off, 1 to 100 = brightness level).
Just edit your UAE Files with a text-editor program located in "C:\Program Files\WinUAE\Configurations"

OldA500 (Power : Red | Drive : Green) - (power_led_dim=50)
NewA500 / A500+ (Power : Green | Drive : Orange/Amber) - (power_led_dim=75)
A600 (Power : Green | Floppy : Orange/Amber | Disk : Orange/Amber) - (power_led_dim=75)
A1200 (Power : Green | F.Disk : Yellow | H.Disk : Orange/Amber) - (power_led_dim=75)

Overlays.zip is for anything less than fullscreen (looks best with a black background), positioned at the top right of your screen.
Overlays-Fullscreen.zip looks better if you run the emulator in fullscreen mode, the leds are at the bottom left with transparency effects and slight better edges.

Oh honxy; do you ever try to work things out for yourself???

I've never used them before but just taught myself how to get them working in one minute...

Here are instructions:
  • Extract the overlays to your default WinUAE location and into the directory "Plugins\overlays" (if you don't have that directory, create it).
  • Load your configuration file (or Quickstart), select "Filter", change "Masks" --> "Overlays" and then in the next drop-down to the right, select your desired overlay.

i extracted all folders (a500, a500p, ...) into winuae\plugins\overlays,
but in filter tap - overlays, there still is "none", they don't show up.

The PNG files belongs directly into the "overlays" folder, not subfolder. And make sure D3D9/D3D11 is enabled, not DirectDraw.
