File format

Anyone familiar with a binary file format with a header that begins with MSH? Possibly something audio related.

Mesh File Format.

Quote:
The file header is a single integer value 0x0B48534D (the letters "MSH" followed by a vertical tab).

Thanks for the suggestion! I forgot to mention that MSH is followed by a null byte. In the mesh format it is followed by a "vertical tab" instead, according to the link. I guess it's not the format I'm looking for.

Also, it's definitely an Amiga format.

If anyone's curious, it turned out to be (Octa)MED's synth instrument format.

A year on... and became wiser lol. Thanks for sharing. I wonder if there is an index of such file formats?

A year? Wow, didn't notice. An index would be nice, but it seems like the Amiga community is too small today compared to how large it once was, which means there is more knowledge to archive than people available to do it. Even a relatively high-profile project like TOSEC have lots of unmaintained areas, and if we can't even keep up with archiving the software, who will take care of the details about how it works?

There are a few websites that try and record detailed information about file formats. Here is one:

www.wotsit.org
