Just for emulator hacking and testing around, this is too expensive for me. Full stop. And if I can't get "a way 'round it", I can't play that game yet. Full stop.
Gladly there are still WHDload authors who release installs for unregistered users.

And even though people (no names!) wanted to blackmail me by telling me "no ADF release until you registered", I'm not willing to let myself dissuade from this decision until the above things are settled.

The patchers who make the installers aren't making any money in 'blackmailing' people to register WHDLoad. The money goes to Bert to continue developing WHDLoad and running the website.

I'd rather recognise a good thing and pay a little to support it than moan about it!

Settling this 'problem' is as simple as not using WHDLoad - nobody is forcing it on you.

I regged it because I wanted to contribute not because I wanted to play games without a requestor, or the 'few' games that won't start without a key.

It will be the same when Debut has been WHDLoaded. It only works on an unexpanded A500. I want to try it again...almost nobody has heard of it.

Well, all the installs are freeware, but WHDLoad is shareware.
If you don't want to support it, it's your choice or your problem.
But I don't want to waste my time to crack game because some users want to play the game but can't because it needs a reg key.

You can still ask to Wepl to do a freeware version of WHDLoad,
but i don't think that the site and whdload project will be alive for a long time and i don't believe that pathers will continue to create install...
