Hmm, is this just a list of games which were't released at all, or do also games count of which at least a preview/demo was released ?
In this case I would add 'Der Schatz im Silbersee'. Don't know software company and so on by heart now, but I think I have the disk somewhere and can up it to the zone.

He, I never answered your questions, Cody

Boo was in the cover of a The One edition, the last one I bought.. Feb 95, if I remember correctly.

I think Magic Castle also was previewed on this same issue.

Overdoc - these are games which are mentioned somewhere that they are or were to be on the Amiga, but really were never released.

It also contains a couple of pre-release names for games that were actually released e.g. Sibwing.

Shatterhand - thanks.

Question Creepers previewed?

Looking through Cody's original unreleased games-list, I noticed a game called Creepers by Psygnosis.
This game is reviewed (on a full page) in 1993 in Amiga Joker! I always assumed this game was released but I never got a crack of it.

I think it's better to include only the games where there is at least one screenshot, because, there are too many games planned, but never started.
With a screenshot, we know that some efforts were made to a certain game, so we can still see (and have) something to put in the database.

But, of course, the last word is up to Cody...

Erm, in case you missed it, HOL is a team, so the last word on all things HOL is up to the HOL team.

SWORD OF SODAN 2 had been announced, but it wasn't released, either. Unfortunately, I can't find the link to the article right now. I will post it when I find it...

Cool About Hostile Breed & Son Shu Si

@Overdoc,
Son Shu Si is discussed in this thread which is about the review it got in Amiga Joker.

Has Hostile Breed never been released? It looked an excellent shmup to me.
I have reviews of it in Amiga Format and Amiga Joker.
Somewhere I have read its publisher, Palace, went bust at the time it was released. Therefore it was never distributed.

Also Championship Sprint was advertised for amiga, never released, and RamRod.

Erm... sorry!...
I know that... but I thought unreleased games was a Cody priority and no-one else...
I respect your great job and I wouldn't denigrate the other HOL members... No offence intended, Twistin'...
Peace?

Quarterstaff should not be on the list - it was always only meant for the Mac (no idea why). It's mention previously in this thread was because of interpreting Infocom games, which I don't believe will work with this title.

Also of note, EA was supposed to have released Skitchin', NHL Hockey, and Mutant League Hockey alongside actual releases "Jungle Strike", "PGA European Tour", and "Shaq Fu", but as this was announced in the Fall of 1994 (a dark period for the Amiga), they were most likely cancelled whilst in production.

And speaking of announcements, Konami announced in very early 1989 that they would be releasing Jackal in the first quarter of '89 (which tells me it was close to completion, if not finished), as well as The Adventures of Bayou Billy for 4th quarter '89 (alongside "Blades of Steel").

Thanks Twistin'

Quarterstaff is listed in Amiga Power's Every Amiga Game Ever Guide and was an entry from a reader - either someone who was mistaken about its existence on the Amiga or else tried to increase their missing game submission and so win the prize that was offered. As it is listed here, we need to debunk that myth in the HOL.

I've added some new ones (Creation, Bob, Higher Functions, Magic Carpet, Inferno CD32, Dracula CD32)...
@Cody. I think what Shatterhand might've been referring to was a Cd32 specific high-res AGA version. In a preview in The One screenshots indicated a planned high-res AGA version which was canned because of speed issues, but was then going to resurface in CD32 form using the Akiko chip. (Mentioned in a CD32 previews article in The One a few months after the CD32 launch if memory serves me correctly).

BTW-Shatterhand, I think that Magic castle game was possibly previewed in an earlier issue of The One, I'm certain I have it, (the preview/issue), but I don't recall any previews of "Boo" being alongside it in that issue.

And would it be remiss to mention Snow Bros. for games that weren't?

There was an old preview shot once in Zzap! of a cartoon GFX style game "Dr. Mallet"(??), it was by psygnosis. I can't recall which issue exactly but it was next to some very early preview shots of Walker (also by psyggy), I suspect it was late 1990 or early 1991 perhaps.

Yes, maybe Magical Castle was in an older The One issue. But Boo I am sure it was in the cover of the last The One issue I bought, with a WIP inside.

Wink

@Shatterhand. I'm not second guessing you about a "Boo" preview, I'm certain I'd stopped buying The One before you did.(Within a few months of David Upchurch leaving the editorial, it was never the same afterwards). I know I just have that preview of Magic Castle & sure it has to be an earlier issue!
