Fs-uae + os4.1

Hi!

Ordered a copy of the 'Classic OS 4' to try it out on emulator as I dont have any proper hardware to run it on, although I have run in to some issues and are hoping someone here have answers.

I have set up FS-UAE with A4000 kickstart, I have the cyberstormppc_44.71 and PIV_FLAS roms, got my boot floppy disk loaded and my iso rip of the amigaos with a vhd file created by virtualbox. I have set the model in FS to 'A4000', '3.1 rom', 'ppc (amigaos 4.x)'.

When booting, all seems fine, it passes the boot logo and bootloader but right after that FS produces the error message: UAE BOOT ROM CAN NOT BE USED WITH PPC NATIVE OS

Not sure what I am doing wrong, any ideas?

I cannot say without log file (but most likely you have added a directory hard drive, or uaegfx card, or another UAE expansion - which you cannot use with AmigaOS 4).

Where does FS put the logs?

I tried making a hdd with the HDF creator and chose that file instead as hard drive, but that did not make any difference for the error message.

The problem is uaegfx_card = 1, as I suggested in the initial reply.

Expansions / Graphic card is set to 'Auto'

Are there any other places it might be set?

I have set it to disabled, although same error message is shown

Yes, I now noticed that you have also enabled bsdsocket_library = 1. This cannot be used with AmigaOS either.

Hi there,

i was giving FS-UAE (2.8.1) another try, and I stumbled apon this here.
May it was naive, but I thought FS-UAE includes the same UAE extensions which are available in WinUAE.

Are there no UAEGFX and other extensions available when used with AmigaOS4?

Yes, but FS-UAE 2.8.1 shares emulation code with WinUAE 3.2.2, so you need to wait for me to integrate the latest changes from WinUAE first!

Latest 2.9dev is still based on an older emulation core which doesn't provide native extension, right?

(Haven't looked at that particular problem for a few months, maybe time for a fresh look at it ;-))
