SoftMem memory doubler

I am looking for this registered proggy, SoftMem 6.33e, a memory doubler for AmigaOS without MMU. Thanks!

Yes, it doesnt needs a MMU.

There is a program on Aminet (http://aminet.net/package/util/boot/Memplusv11) that even swaps the memory to harddrive, but its less polished than SoftMem.

in 2006, eab member jjsmith, listed content of his hdd WIP, Apps.txt listing softmem archive, with 92kb size.
but he wasnt on since 2007, so just for the records; there might be another version around.

I found another RAM doubler in Aminet, this is very small and better, its free. Its http://aminet.net/package/game/gag/MemDoubler. Its located in "game/gag", but it works, albeit its not a miracle. With it I could load the entire EAB homepage in IBrowse in a machine with 4 MB Fast-RAM. Before it lacked some pictures or worse, it crashed with lack of RAM memory.

Interestingly, some settings work better than others. For example I feel that reserving a bigger cache for graphics and page helps compacting all the memory that IBrowse uses.

Also seems that some patches, like PoolMem, SystemPatch and even FBlit, decrease or cancels the effect of RamDoubler. I dont know why.

It also can be used to double the Chip-RAM. I have seen many users complaning about their A6000/A1200 using too much Chip memory, so this might help you guys too.

I discovered that these programs are fakes. They doesnt are virus, but they do nothing. Basically what they do only is doubling the memory meter of Workbench.

Please, do not download these programs, they doesnt do anything.

Well they do something, they trick the machine into thinking it has more memory for loading games that require more.
However as I found most programs are not stupid.

Would be nice to find something that gets it to think some fast ram is chip ram, as alot of whdload stuff require it.
