Deluxe Galaga/ Apollo 1260 crashing

As some of you may be aware, i am now using what was a broken Apollo 1260 which I managed to fix. I have since installed Classic Workbench (thx Bloodwych ) and as you do, have begun to install my favourite WHDLoad games etc.

Most of the games I have been playing work fine, however it appears that Deluxe Galaga (AGA v 2.6) is not too happy in the operating environment (CPU/FPU etc) as it has random crashes, in particular at around level 22 or so.

Has anyone else experienced this? and if so, is there a work-around? Unfortunately as the board cannot be disabled during start-up.. so I am more or less stuck with it.

Cheers :0

You haven't made it too clear (well, you might have done but I'm being thick) - are you using the WHDLoad version of Deluxe Galaga or not?

Maybe try running it without WHDLoad (if you haven't already)? I'm not sure how it'll behave on an '060, I run it on my '040 and have never needed to bother with the WHDLoad version.

Also did you try tooltypes with the WHDLoad version like NoCache etc?

Thanks for the reply GH,
I will give it a bash later on with different settings and what have you.
I was more or less wanting to know whether I was alone on this one or not. I do recall that when I ran my games on my Apollo 1240, I had no problems... but then again I wasn't using WHDLoad either

Cheers

also when galaga loads...hold down the fire button and this will enter the config screen....change cpu type to 040...that MAY help.

Thanks DoogUK.... It seems that it has fixed the problem. Now changed from auto configure to 030/040 setting.
