File .NFO & file ID.diz stuff.... How To..!!

Hi all,

Quite a few years ago, I was in the habit of using MAXsBBS in conjunction with KFB (DOOR for extracting file_id.diz) in order of keeping, or at least having a quick reference guide as to what it was that I had as far as amiga files were concerned.

I find myself today with leftover CDs, DVDs of mega stuff that I just DO NOT have a clue of what they are, and although I am willing to spend the time to un-archiving them just to find out what the files are, I am sure that "someone" has written a proggy that will do the hard work of extracting the file_id.diz somewhat in a simple quick way..???

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Thanks StingRay,
Unfortunately this ain't what I was after. But thanks for your input.

I was after something which would do a whole dir rather that one file at at a time as it will take longer than life itself..... I just have way too much !!!

Let's hope I manage to finish before I die...............

If you use DOpus then you can just add a button "File_ID.diz", use "SnatchDiz S {f}" and use "with all files" as parameter (or whatever it is called in the english version, I'm using a german version) and your problem is solved.

If you feel up to it... you could upload those to Magix FTP (BBS dir)... I'm sure the TOSEC guys would love to get some new goodies.
