Setting application screen positions?
I'm wondering if there is a way to get a CLI program to open at a particular screen location?
Let me explain; I'm using DriveLight from aminet so I can see drive light activity on my workbench screen. I'm running it from user-startup without issue. The program opens at the top left most position every time which I guess is default for any programs not configured or written to open anyplace in particular. Are there utilities or launchers that could be used to set the default screen position of this application per user preference? Perhaps arguments in the user-startup command line? The application itself does not support this. I'm currently running an A500 VampireV2+ with ApolloOSr43*fixed* which is wb3.9 and lot's of bell and whistles like MUI, ToolManager and such. |

Sorry for the semi off-topic post, but how come you need to use such a utility? Is this the A500 in the tower case? No way to hook in the LED's in the case?

Snapper can control the position, and in some cases size of any named window:
http://aminet.net/package/util/misc/Snapper That includes drawers as well as programs. E.g.: When using it to set the window size of Hugo (which normally uses the full screen dimensions) I named the drawer that contained the program Hugo3 so that it's window would not be forced to the same size/position. Unnecessary picture of Hugo in action, with snapper running in the background: |
