As this seems like a relevant thread I shall share this comparison video I just knocked up with Gods, In some ways I prefer the ST version, palette seems more murky and gritty..

Maybe it's possible to modify color palette like in Atari 8-bit emulators? Different video codec may also change colors.

Yeah that's what I found, when I recorded the ST the colours didn't seem right, I was using SainT..Also the codecs as you mentioned seemed to change things..I will keep experimenting. Overall resolution and playback came out well though

How anyone can prefer the ST version astonish me.. Amiga version is 2x smoother in the animation. Not much difference in the colors, but that's because they didn't bother to make an extra 32 color version for the Amiga i guess..

As for shadow of the beast comparaison... i guess you won't preffer the ST version there, even with the biggest rose tintet Atari glasses from the world

For the most part I do prefer the Amiga version of Gods, It's mostly blind nostalgia that I have a soft spot for the Atari version, It was the last game I bought for it before it got sold. As for Shadow Of The Beast on Atari, yep, It's pretty dire to say the least A vomit bag would be handy for some of the colours.

These are cool videos, I hope you will make some more!

EDIT - is there any chance you could do Shadow of the Beast 2 as well?
That one is completely rubbish on the ST, even worse than the ST port of Beast 1, IMO

Thanks Laffer, I plan to record some more and I shall take you up on your request for SOTB2. Before that though I have a Turrican II comparison to make.

Echelon Games may be just bunch of Atari ST fans. They modified frame on title screen and all text in intro is missing:
