Being owner of warp data types as well, what is the best settings in ibrowse for image decoding? Internal or external? If I choose jpeg and png external as external (those 2 data types are supported by warp) and leave the xbm and gif (not supported by warp) as internal then I don’t get as good results as when I have all of them internal. Any optimum settings I need to follow?

There is extra overhead using the datatypes system and generally you would only want to use external JPEG and PNG if you are running on MorphOS or a PPC card with WarpOS.

So, on a OS3 68K only system, it is best to leave everything as internal. All the applicable optimisations from the WarpDTs are also present in the IBrowse internal decoders. Also, if running on ECS/AGA native graphics, with internal decoders you can set IBrowse to use fast memory for images, instead of using up precious chip ram.

I bought Ibrowse today after a huge speedup compared to past versions on my Blizzard 030. I did a little video of it.

Initially I was hesitant to buy it as funds were tight, but considering I was using the demo so much I decided to take the plunge and get it. Haven’t regretted it at all and absolutely love it. Keep up the great work.

I'm finding a lot of stuff is way faster than earlier, but wasn't sure how much is down to IBrowse vs AmiSSL vs new ZZ9000 firmware. It feels faster than my Pentium 233MMX.

AmiSSL 4.6 is no faster than 4.4/4.5.

Don't know about the ZZ9000 firmware, but you will get better SSL performance in IBrowse 2.5.3, mainly because it avoids having to open and negotiate new HTTPS connections whenever possible, thus skipping the time consuming initial handshaking on subsequent connections.

Ever since I gave my FS-UAE config a brain transplant to a 68060, iBrowse flies, this, since late-Summer 2019. I couldn't be more pleased. Prior to increasing the speed, I got hung on a lot of news sites. Now they load with ease. Loading sites/content is a bit of a gamble: Some will load very nicely as long as you have the ram, others just aren't built for our browser, whether they want Javascript or not. I never have Javascript enabled and I get along very well on the Internet.

I've enjoyed playing FB (non youtube) vids and vids from archive dot org. However - there really isn't lot of readily available video on the Internet anymore that isn't Youtube or Vimeo or Dailymotion.

Quite a significant improvement. It really flies on my 1200/060, on my 600/30 the biggest bottlneck is the plipbox. I don't do a huge amount of browsing on my Amigas, but for when I do this update has made a huge difference!
