8bitdo Mod Kit for original Sega Mega Drive 6 Button, NES and SNES controller

Really nice idea and very good for emulation. Especially the PCB for the MD 6-button controller. Finally wireless (besides the very expensive Joyzz from Krizz for real MD consoles)

I saw. All sold out though, when I checked. All we need now is a bluetooth receiver for the Amiga/CD32 and we're all set!!

Yep, that would be great. I would install the PCB into my Honeybee CD32 controller.

I don't know if you know or not, but there is this too:

I have no idea if the 9pin receiver is Atari/Commodore compatible though. (And it's expensive)

Have seen it but never noticed the 9-pin receiver. You are probably right. Surely not compatible, especially not with the CD32 button layout.

I'm quite surprised none of the reviews I read before buying two SF30 Pro controllers mentioned this:

Playing platformers can be a frustrating, very frustrating experience...

I have the SFC30 and SFC30 Pro controllers and no problems at all with the D-pad. First time i heard about it.

edit: Ah, pretty new review. I guess this isn't a global issue with the pads.

That could be poison for certain parts of Super Metroid.

I'm certainly not the only one with this problem.

I'll try the tape fix, just need the mailman to deliver the needed Torx T7 to take the controller apart.

Only nitpicking. I tried to force it on the SFC30 pad. No chance to hit the diagonals accidently.

It can happen on the SF30 pro. But as i said, you have to force it. But only if you press the edges (and only the edges) for a longer time. This is not the way i play. Unless you have a thumb of a giant.

edit: But this is OT in this thread. It's about the Mega Drive PCB from 8bitdo.

Yes I know, I was just asking if the bad d-pad design on the pcb was fixed.
Apparently it's not from the pics in the link you posted, too bad.

The tape fix definitely improved the d-pad on my SF30 Pro, no more diagonal misfires.
Here's what I did (not my pad):

Be careful when you take the SF30 Pro apart, there's a small ribbon cable connecting to the PCB on top with the analogue sticks, don't remove it unless you want a headache connecting it again.

Isn't it easier and cheaper to just get an USB adapter?

8bitdo Megadrive/Genesis controlers coming in 2019

I'm not sure this has been posted on EAB already, but I recently saw an advert for wireless Megadrive controllers from 8bitdo coming in February 2019. This is not a mod kit, but a full controller.

Since these might be (partially) compatible with the Amiga, I figured people might want to know.

Awesome. Looks like they're going to sell the Retro Receiver separately, which is great as the Megadrive pad is not my favourite. Any risk of damage to the Amiga with this?

As a kid I put up with it and thought I was real clever for realising it would work with the Amiga...

...But when I recently bought one thinking 'yeah they're great' I was bitterly disappointed. I mean compared to a comp pro for example its hardly even usable.

So its not just me? Or a bad example? This has the red start button, my original had the grey - i dunno maybe it was better.

Original 3 Button Sega Megadrive pad is very good, one of the best joypad regarding the directional hat.

I dislike six button model, i prefer the supernes joypad.
