pcmcia extension?

I'm a bit concerned by way the network adapters hang out of the pcmcia slots on the A600 / 1200. It seems like it would be causing a lot of stress on the internal slot. So, I thought, maybe someone has a solution for this, and it looked as if a solution was out there: https://www.digikey.com/product-deta...-36-ND/1886442. An extender, do I could fold the card around the back of the computer and take the strain off the antique plastic.

Unfortunately I can't seem to find any. I guess nobody uses pcmcia cards anymore. Has anyone done anything like this?

You could ask amigakit to make a special Right Angle Adapter.

I want a 180 degree angle adapter, with a little tilt on it, so the pcmcia card aligns with the underside of the keyboard inside A600/A1200. I have all the parts, just need some time to ponder over Eagle (or KiCAD).

I was talking about flexible extended right angle adapter. Ive made a few specially before.

Ideally, for me at least, would be right angled, but somehow supported with little legs or flexible enough to sit on the desk. Once the network cable is plugged in there's quite a lot of pressure on the internals. Torque being proportional to the distance from the fulcrum, and all that.

Use more lightweight cable? Also the rating of the cable usually adds a lot of bulk - for example a CAT5E cable is almost always much lighter and more nimble compared to a and CAT6 cable.

There are also extra thin and light cables if you shop around. Got some really thin flat ethernet cables with some DLink networked cameras, which look something like this. I use it for my A1200, it places next to no strain on the card.
