Amiga emulation on a bootable USB

Does anyone have the link to an url that leads to instructions to create an emulated Amiga on a bootable USB drive on a Windows 10 PC? I have a 256gb nvme ssd in a usb 3.1 thunderbolt enclosure that I would love to turn into a plug and play Amiga box, I have already done one on a raspberry pi 4, now I want to take it to the next level. A real Amiga would be awesome, but I would rather not take the chances involved with buying one on Ebay just to have it break soon afterwards.

I was thinking of a solution such as AmiKit, but I don't see any kind of compatibility for a Windows PC multi-boot setup, just Linux.

Ok maybe not what you want but there is WinToUSB this will install Windows on a bootable USB. You can then change the shell to WinUae and thus can then boot straight into Amiga OS.

I will probably have to settle with Linux, because I can't find exactly what I am looking for..

All I can find is stuff like this..

If you want to change the Windows shell here is a rough guide but its based on XP
https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=50918&page=2

iirc someone did an even more in-depth guide as a PDF ill see if I can find it.

Another alternative is AROS.

Yeah, I am looking at AROS right now, that's probably as close to what I am looking for as I am going to find

I was just looking for a descent emulator that I can just tell my laptop to boot from usb with

Yeah, AROS is going to work, I can just burn the iso onto the drive and rufus will make it bootable.

Here is the PDF
https://aminet.net/search?query=Amiga_XP_x86.pdf

There have been some Linux Amiga boot things but WinUae is King.
Let us know what you choose

If anyone is interested it looks like it might be even easier to change Windows default shell with Windows 10/11 build 1809+ with Shell Launcher v2.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/wi...-shelllauncher

Also with Microsoft now offering Windows unregistered freely and AROS 68k Kickstart replacement for WinUae - someone could build such a bootable USB and distribute a image of it - legally.

Amilator/AmiDeb can do this from a usb memory stick.
Amilator was created to do just that, AmiDeb wasn't but does work being installed to a USB memory stick.

I also seem to remember Cloanto having some sort of boot directly to Amiga with their Amiga Forever product.

As already mentioned, you may want to check out Pimiga 4 which in contrast to its name can run an emulated Amiga from USB stick for PC/Mac and RaspberryPi with one single image. Details on Chris YT channel: [ Show youtube player ]

you can run DOSUAE and make a USB booteable Amiga or something like that, I did it long time ago for fun

but plz note

the best Amiga emulator by far is Winuae
but depends of windows for directx sound, for the gui for the video filters etc for all
so if u want the best and more accurate and compatible Amiga emulation you must run windows then winuae and so on

I've just installed Piniga 4 to an external HD and it ran great for a day then started going weird and not booting properly in the emulator so I think some files got corrupted.

Might have started going wrong after I tried to expand the filesysten though.

Rewriting it to the drive now. Was working great when it was working briefly though.
