What would a dream Amiga System be?

I'm looking for what people would consider a dream amiga system. Top of the line.

Please list the specs and I'll start trolling e-bay to build myself a beast of an Amiga

Just something else to add to my Miggy room.

Will you be completely utilizikng the fullest of this "beast amiga"? Because I can't help thinking that if you unload a whackload of many on a full-featured PPC-upgraded model, you won't be using it that much OR, be left thinking "this is it?"

My dream Amiga system is only a little bit better of what I have: desktop A1200 with an 060 accelerator (the fastest there is, 66 Mhz I think?), 128MB of RAM, a SCSI interface or why not, just a buffered 4 way IDE interface, one CDRW, a scandoubler, a nice HD (6GB or so), and that's it. This would work wonders for me, being able to run loads of games through WHDLoad, not needing an Amiga monitor or a TV to play them, watching all the demos at fast speeds, forgetting about messing around with towering the amiga (and in the process ruining its looks), forgetting about incompatibilities, PPC boards being unstable, etc. etc. Then again I might stick to my 030@50 and just stick more ram and an fpu to it, because for whdload and stuff an 030 is the system to have.

Then again if you have shitloads of cash to waste and won't use this amiga at all and you just want it for teh heck of it, go for the full load, in which case someone else will have to assist because I am not informed nor interested in thsoe kind of specs.

Actually, I should have mentioned "Classic" amiga.

I couldnt give a rat's ass for the PPC stuff. Just something that will run the games and demos and surfing the internet.

I have a PC to do anything else. I would only buy a system if I actually planned on using it.

Now we're talking

My system is a pretty great all round jobbie. However surfing the net is kind of odd. The 060 brings some incompatibilities but all round is better than getting an 040 as far as I've been told.

I would go for a full-on blizzard 030@50 system or an 060 system. Retroman seems to be very happy with his 060 so probably he has more info in that front.

Ok, lemme get this straight

If you want to surf the net :

- AGA System / 030 with 50Mhz. -> don´t do it, it´s just painfull
- AGA System / 060 -> works fine, allthough the pictures are limited to 256 Colors but it works fine
- Gfx Card / 030 -> kinda slow, but faster than AGA and much more colorfull
- Gfx Card /040 and 060 -> Internet works like a charm

So, as I do not really care about AGA Games, my "personal" favourite would be an A2000 with Kick 1.3/3.1 Switch and a Blizzard 2060 accelerator with 128MB Fast mem .... of course all internal drives should be SCSI and connected to the FAST SCSI II Port of the Blizzard

And not to forget, a decent gfx card, the Cybervision 64/3D or better the Picasso IV .....

That´s all you need and you will get also nearly all the old games going with Kick 1.3

Thanks guys.. I think I now have the info I need.

I think I'll go with the GFX card as I would like the best possible internet experience..

Now I'm going to go look for that thread on networking pc to amiga.

That's another thing I'd like to do.. Would be hard to convince the wife to surf from the amiga.

The AAA architecture like Dave Haynie started to design.
Amiga was about exciting chipsets.

I actually downloaded a video about 2 or 3 years back ( lost it now ) that has Dave or someone else walking around Commodore before it was about to shut its doors, and in it he shows a finished AAA motherboard, and if memory serves me, he even powers it up!.

So the AAA was pretty much finished already, but we all know what happened next.

Does anyone know much about the AAA?

Any specs?

PS - just noticed how old this thread is - Akira posted. Plus the AAA stuff is totally off-topic! LOL!
