PC format in Amiga ?

I'm not expert of this subject, so any info is appreciated
I found some .xm files which play on Hippo Player

Now, i'm confused
It's not xm a PC module ?
How it's possible that an Amiga player recognize it ?

But, why not? It's just data, any computer can be made to play it. HippoPlayer supports lots of different music formats.

As far as I understand it, .xm is pretty similar to other module formats so it doesn't even require any special hardware.

Something like a .sid file would of course require a SID chip for authentic playback, but with enough CPU power also that can be emulated.

You can even import and edit .xm modules on Amiga with Digi Booster. Requires fast processor though if you use more than 8 channels.

Channels are mixed with the CPU.
