Amiga to HDMI
Hi All,
I'm thinking to connect my Amiga 4000D w/ CVPPC to my LCD tv via VGA 2 HDMI cable. What screen resolution should I set for that? Or even can this way be a usable solution, or I have to pass and forget it? It would be so good as my tv has several ports and only this I have not use currently to hook up a Miggy to use.... thanks, Reynolds |

Depends on the capability of the VGA 2 HDMI cable. After all it's not "a cable" it's an expensive bit of hardware. 1280x720 or 1920x1080 if your CVPPC can do them. As to whether that is the best resolution for you to use depends on the native resolution of your LCDTV. Sounds like you've not priced up a VGA->HDMI adapter yet. They are about $50. If you're ok with that then find one and look up what input resolutions it supports. Most support 1920x1080. |

The analogue VGA is in use, that's the reason
All the ports are in use, except the HDMI. Composite for the CDTV, SVideo for CD32, SCART for the A4000D and VGA for the CV64 in that one. And I want to use the HDMI if it can be, for the CVPPC from the A4000T. BTW I've tried with my peecee as well, but as I don't know too much about HDMI I just failed. |

VGA switcher would be possible too if you have VGA output on Amiga side.
There are also some (expansive) converters. I do not think, HDMI is "vga compatible"; but DVI can be, but that port do you not have? gehtjanx |

You can't just hook up vga to hdmi. Vga is anolog hdmi is digital. You need some special hardware to convert the 2. Simplest would be to just hook up to the vga in on the monitor. If you want to hook up through hdmi, you will need a mediator with the radeon 9250. Dvi and hdmi are compatible. Hope this helps.

Rather than invest in a HDMI converter. Spend the same money on a Ratte designed Automon (switches VGA between native Amiga and CVPPC automatically).
