like a nostalgia crying session, i can honestly say i think im suffereing depression, i should have never got this a500 down from the loft. seriously. i'm 24. still live with parrents. used to play this very A500 i got here now with my sister in a different room and ive just been sitting here on my own starting at the wall weeping like a girl. cant freaking beleive it.

ps yeah i know wrong sort of thread for this section but. pfffft

ok, sorry but i cant have this a500 down here. its just depressing me ill actually have to take it back up and leave it there, physically crying at 24 is not good

this is the 21st century, you can do whatever the hell you want. I'd say crying because the ol' A500 gave you some memories would even have been allowed when men were still men!

Also note: the average guy nowadays moves out at 26 I believe, so you still have two years to go without feeling ashamed of yourself

@lost_lemming - try to remember the joy that playing your A500 brought you and sister, crying is nothing to be ashamed of

my brother lives at home with my mum, and i miss the times we spent playing our A500s, when we both got our machines... loading up SotB 2... the great graphics... the awesome sound... playing it now on WinUAE brings back some great memories

i have no RL friends that enjoy the Amiga (or emulation) they have moved on, the social side is something that i miss the most... sure i have PSN and XBL friends but nothing beats a high five

i dont know your personal circumstances, you are welcome to share either privately or on this thread

but always know you will have Amiga friends at EAB

so this morning felt better. decided to keep the miggy down here with all the fuss i did fixing in the indi ECS.

I guess, last night, the nostalgia was too much for me and blew my roof off! I've lost contact with all the friends I knew in that early 90s amiga scene. they've probably moved on with the times on their xboxes and stuff anyway and don't care about the amiga the same way I do.

certain games just brough back different memories of different friends and I can still hear their quotes from those days (if you know what I mean) and knowing those days will NEVER come back.

Probably needed the cry tbh, Like a large puking session (sorry, it's just that, this is the only example I can give) is a great cure for being well over drunk or hungover in the morning. It's sorted me out and I guess I can still carry on retro-gaming without a weak mind. thanks all!

I can still remember some awesome sessions of playing Dune 2, X-Wing, Comanche and old Epic Megagames / Apogee games on my friend's 386... he only had a 40mb harddrive, so usually when we wanted to play something, we first had to install it from floppies

Oh. I thought you cried because you had lost your sister and it brought back memories of her. Otherwise I would see no reason for "crying at age 24 is not good". Crying not being 'accepted' when you're an adult reflects a very harsh approach to life. I guess it could be this way in some societies/cultures, but it can be very damaging to a person's health to to enforce this "grown men don't cry", "take your troubles and sweep them under the rug" attitude.

Hehe, </rant>. Anyway. Perfect excuse to get some new miggy-fans or your sis over for some serious or not so serious gaming, if I ever saw one

Amiga is powerful stuff.Iv'e always owned one so the need to reunite has never been there but i can imagine perhaps one single tear of joy at the re-discovery.Lets be honest, there can't be much more on the cards for us that could top the Amiga days.What's great is it's not going anywhere either as there is clearly much love for the system and what it means to enjoy Amiga

i thought what did i see in this rubbish

but when i put on my amiga its a diferent beast altogether
its more than nostalga its part of you

i try to move on and enjoy pc as well as other formats
my amiga remains setup and can relate to memerys from old days

for me, the amiga made me for a small part who i am today... the amiga gave me the opportunity to start building my own musictudio and i have fond memories of so many games and apps. i feel completely those tears of nostalgia.
