A1200 Game Port Malfunctions? Please help

Hello, new member here.
wish to seek remedy for this problem with my A1200

yesterday I was playing a game on my A1200 and during a gameplay I plug and unplug my joystick, the joystick was fine at that moment but as soon as I switch off power and reboot my A1200 and load another game, I found out that the joystick is faulty, it kept pointing to the right.

All games I tried is now unplayable simply becos characters are kept going right and as if the joystick is stuck.

Does this mean I have sucessfully made the gameport faulty? by plugging and unplugging joystick during "power on" when I should have done it when the A1200 is off?

I wonder who and where can fix this problem..
I am sure there was a short somewhere inside perhaps? replacing the game port only might not redemy this.

although the mouse still works ok and I can still use the A1200 for applications etc but it' s sad to know I can no no longer play games on it because no point with the joystick kept pointing to the right like that

Please help or suggest what i should do.. shall I just replace with a new A1200?

Cheers
Nigel

Check for bent pins in the joystick port.

Hello,
I did and all ok, pins are strong sturdy, I suppose there is a problem within the main board of the A1200?

Tried using other controller pad but no difference.

Is there still any professional repair person can work on my A1200? I would send my miggy for repair at any cost

Heh, I've been too exposed to C-64 troubleshooting lately. (there's always an excuse ;-)
