What Chips Are What Form Factor
Greetings,
This thread is aimed squarely at the hardware gurus. I need to know what the form factor is for most of the Miggy chips / common add-on boards. But only for the SMT ones, QFP and PLCC. MACH chips 680xx A4000 dedicated chips Expansion boards The purpose of this is to decide what Metcal tips I need for rework, after New Years, I will be starting my own business, doing very specific repairs to Amiga hardware, synthesizers, etc. with a discount for well known EAB members, ie. people that have posted here for awhile. I will also be offering a capacitor replacement service, with prices based on how many need doing, battery mods / PCB cleaning. This will only form a small part of the overall business. I don't need any information on any BGA chips, I will simply not be doing it, as the rework equipment required costs a bomb and in my own personal experience with BGA, I don't find it to be reliable, unless you do an absolutely *perfect* job and the idea of removing BGA chips to resolder nearly identical balls on underneath isn't something I relish. PLCC, DIP (wide and skinny) and SOIC comes to mind.
No BGA in any Amiga motherboard, you'll find them in some PPC accelerators. As for pin counts, you should google around a bit, as they are mentioned on quite a few websites. Perhaps take a look at the motherboard pictures on amiga-hardware.com. |
