Yes, I agree, CD32Load in my opinion is in many, many aspects better than WHDLoad.
I see MUCH point in using it with IDE and Fast RAM on a CD32!
Before the problem was that IDE+Fast RAM were expensive or hard to get for the CD32 but that will probably not be the case anymore, so the playfield has changed.

CD32 + IDE would rock. I would certainly buy one if available/affordable (I suspect that the lens of my CD32 is weak).

100 to 1000 CD32 users now have a floppy. OK. If someone requests a particular "save to floppy" feature for a given slave, I'll examine the possibility of doing it, even if it's slightly against the whdload philosophy.

I wonder if Bert would agree to add CD32 pad to keyboard mapping in WHDLoad.

Spudje there are also AGA games now possible with 2MB chip memory (a few ones work)

Well as said I have no problem in giving you one of the new upcoming expansions (Terrible Fire or Wicher) as a thank you for all your work and incentive to further work on the IDE capabilities of CD32load, assuming they will be a lot cheaper than the current SX32 ebay prices, hehehe I'm sure a few others here would like to donate a few euros for this as well.

thanks, yes send any hardware you want as donations! PM for my snail-mail address

BTW completely coincidental, work on CD32load has slightly resumed: I'm currently improving resload_Relocate whdload function (also doing resload_PatchSeg)

my internal version is already able to run Xenon without gfx glitches, Odyssey goes slightly further, and my next target is ... Moonstone, that I considered impossible until now, but this isn't the case anymore.

Did my relocation routine prove useful?

OK, do you have a riser board for the CD32 and have enough with a Terrible Fire or whicher RAM/IDE card, or is a riser needed too?

The Analogic floppy interface also works as a riser. But I don't think many people have those either.
We'd have to budget in for the whole deal.
For the time being, nobody seems to be producing TF328s, so a Wicher combo would be the closest one.

Damn, can't wait well done!

I'm hoping joypad->keyboard mapping is all functional? There's only a couple of places it's needed but it's important (space for inventory, 1 and 2 for which option to pick when you're overlapping multiple places on the map)

@Galahad: no, your reloc routine only supports one hunk, the one I was using was working properly. The issue I was having is that memory wasn't cleared, but exec was properly allocated.

CD32load 0.31 in the zone. Originally supported version of moonstone works, other versions won't (because of unsupported resload_WDelta)

Well, holy shit, it works (slave 1.4) and with joypad-keyboard mapping too. Legend

Will upload an ISO for testing in a bit.

I wonder, could it be done to add turbofire support for CD32Load? Because CD32 gamepad do not have this feature, it would be great to have it supported in software.
Anyway thanks for working on this great app.

CD32load v0.32 on my webpage, more games supported (Flashback, Odyssey, possibly more)

http://jotd.pagesperso-orange.fr/amiga.html

note that 0.31 is buggy as hell, Moonstone was running by sheer luck...

@JOTD Thanks! Do you think it's worth updating the upcoming Moonstone release to use .32? To be honest I'm perfectly happy running with .31 because I've played it start to end on real hardware without any crashes..

Re: Autofire, should be easy enough by setting the fire bits back to 0 every second frame? (So if you're holding down fire, it'll be cancelled out every second frame.. though we could make it every 4th or so for games that run less than 50FPS)

I'm tempted to experiment, but to be honest I do the same as spudje, Honeybee is by far the best solution for rapidfire on CD32 (especially since all seven buttons can be set to automatic or rapid fire)
