Would this mean, we could maybe update CyberGraphX to use Picasso96 drivers with relative ease? If we have access to the sources of course?

Unlikely. The cybergraphics.library API is the same but the hardware driver level is probably completely different.

That is not excatly true, corret way to say this would be Picasso96 has a reimplementation of the CyberGraphics API. Just like Cybergraphix has a Picasso96 compatibility layer.

Fair enough. The P96 layer is written by a third party IIRC.

Jens stated it will not come, his deal with Hyperion fell through. He will offer a pay what you want option for P96 in the near future.

Do you have a link to that to read up on it?

Kind of strange, the deal fell through but he's going to release a new version with a pay-as-you-want pricing model. Which is good, but did he just buy a license to redistribute and enhance? If that's the case then everyone should be happy, we get new versions and people (I think there were two, yes exactly two) were angry that Jens was going to "own" P96. Best of both worlds it seems.

I feel like I must have missed something - who holds the rights now then?
And Jens has the rights to sell/develop a version?

I also see from the A1200 Reloaded specs that the new Indivision for that board will also have P96 RTG functionality on it, which is new compared to previous Indivisions. Would be a nice addition on top of the scandoubler functionality.

And all this after according to Jens' investing a five-digit sum which made it inevitable to get Hyperion on board?

Does not compute.

I explained here what I think about the backgrounds of the deal and I am still convinced about it:

http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...8&postcount=52

RTG makes a lot of sense, especially for Amigas with low-end CPUs. I expect we will see some RTG functionality in Jens's A1200 reloaded and perhaps even a Zorro graphics card. Perhaps there was hope to also move the OS at least closer to OS4.x. This would have been the subject of the joint press release that isn't going to take place.
