The article wasn't that great anyway to be honest, I was expecting more about the EXTRA new products available to soup up the A500. Or even modified ones stuff like that

At that magazine, they seem to bury their heads in the sand when it comes to new hardware products for Classic Retro Gaming.

I'll probably buy the magazine anyway. I'm a sucker for any articles about the Amiga, Saturn, Dreamcast, PlayStation, GameCube, Atari ST, etc.

I'm not sure about that rainbow under Amiga, it have older style. Also leds are off so we know it's just museum item.

It's like you see this massive frontal page really pulling you in and then the article is like, is that it, then it's sporadic adverts and bits of gaming history. I rarely buy magazines anymore tbh.

It's a good mag though, just needs more ooomp

It's a only magazine worth reading while waiting for a plane. It's always avaliable in WHSmiths at any London Airport, for that I salute them

Amiga 500 looks amazing on the front page, sexy.

To be fair to the mag though, it is meant as a collector's guide rather than a massively in-depth guide to the machine in question. So I wouldn't really expect new hardware to be mentioned in the article (although it is given a very passing mention). I agree that new hardware expansions in general don't get mentioned much but I don't think that's in the scope of these collector's articles.

And besides, it is twelve pages long so it's not bad (although some of the games on that checklist at the end are questionable to say the least). Overall I think it does a pretty good job.

I have written to RG twice now outlining new Amiga stuff, PD games, about this site and CIA - I have never even had a response let alone a letter published...

The 'PAL games you need own' contains quite a few good jokes if you have a closer look

And I'm not sure I'd list Shadow Of The Beast II under 'Top Games To Play'

Not totally off as a whole though

I used to buy every issue of this magazine, I have nearly every issue from when it first appeared on the shelves in whsmith. To be honest though it's gone downhill in the last few months and things get repeated eventually. There's only so much you can write/review about Retrogames. I agree they should start covering deeper into new hardware for old systems and new games for old systems and also cover emulation on all systems in greater depth.

I hear ya! I used to have a subscription but the way it was written and amount of detail in articles was carp. I just read old Amiga Power mags now, far more riveting and fun journalism!

Never tried this mag, usually the retro mags i've seen is superficial and lacks the depth you get in forums. I got some retro books that seems like the writer hasn't even used any computer of that vintage, if have any computer knowledge at all beside how to use whatever software he wrote the book with.
