Games you regret buying

This topic has probably been done before, but are there any games that you regret buying? I didn't have a lot of pocket money growing up, so every time I made a mistake buying a game it hurt. Here's my list:

Brainiac - ZX Spectrum. I had loved the Codies budget titles, but had basically played them all at this point. I spotted this piece of trash in my local game shop, and got sucked in with the quotes on the back (never again, can't believe I fell for that). David Darling said it was brilliant. One of the few games that I got exactly zero enjoyment from. Zero. And I tried, because I had just spent 1.99 on it.

Twin Turbo v8 - Appalling Spectrum racer. Looked quite nice on the back of the cassette cover. Thought to myself, well, Chase HQ is really good, this might be fun. It wasn't. Worst graphics of any Spectrum racer.

Killing Game Show - Amiga. Nice Intro. Rubbish graphics. Rubbish gameplay. No fun. More fun than Brainiac though!

Over to you!

Bad company on amiga by logotron a poor game.Night breed on amiga bad game.
Sometimes if a game i bought was crap i would swap it in the store for another one.I did this with roadblasters.
The advantages of being a kid was you could sometimes get away with this.

I can't remember which one, but there was a Basketball game I purchased for the Amiga..
I seem to remember the play was OK, but the crown sound was this cheering "loop" that just kept going and going.. and going...
I eventually started playing with the sound off, and then I stopped playing all together...

I also remember being upset with Neuromancer, which was really disappointing..
Not that the game was "bad to play," but it kept crashing on me... No idea what the problem was, but I never finished it because of that...

None. "A game worth playing is a game worth bying" So I only have bought games I've played "somehow/somewhere" before.

I extend that to "a game worth playing at least twice"

Warzone (paradox), utter shite!
Also, Flight Path 737 was on the edge, but still slightly better than Warzone. "Luckily" both were budget priced games, so no severe loss there.

Offtopic: a game I don't regret buying was Night Breed - the Action game

More a "bad choice" than "full regret": I was given some money to buy a game (for Christmas or something like that).
I wanted an AGA game since the only one I had at that time was Zool.

In the shop, there were two AGA games that stood out on the shelves, Alien Breed 2 and Body Blows Galactic. I quite liked both original games, but had not read reviews about the new ones.

I thought that BBG would have had a lot of improvements compared to BB. So I chose this one.

Once at home, I played it. Looked nice. Some interesting characters and moves. I enjoyed a few single player sessions and had a few matches with friends. But in the end, it was a bit too much of more of the same.

Alien Breed II would probably have been a better choice.

That and some previous purchases (notably some CPC games) have led me to adopt the same attitude as mombasajoe and now I always wait to have played a game somehow/somewhere before deciding to buy it.

I remember a lot of the late stuff on NES and SNES was terrible, almost every single one. Didn't buy those, rented them, but still.

Assasin. First level, looked nice, quite fun, like the demo.
Second level, huge, boring, stupidly hard maze nonsense.
Never made it through.
25 bills i dropped on that turd! Thanks team 17!

do paid disk copies in pre 1994-no copryrights-"no holds barred"-Central Europe still count? If then I wasted plenty of milk money on Sierra games, which turned out to be atrocious conversions. Oh and The Rise of The Robots, the hype was massive.
