7z possible?

There is a huge space save compressing the adf's in 7z instead zip.
Can GameBase be modified to accept 7z files? Will ever support 7z officially?

You have to change a couple of files to add the 7z extension.

It's got nothing to do with GameBase, as long as the emulator supports it (which WinUAE does) GameBase can use it.

I did it myself last year. You just need to open the databases and change the relevant filenames to be (whatever).7z instead of (whatever).zip

I forget which config files holds the file extensions so you will have to have a look for that yourself.

Why bother? Amiga disk images are small and drive space is cheap.

HDs might be cheap but Internet is still slow as fuck for uploads.

It is not a small saving, if memory serves correctly the games directory of tosec is about 800mb to a gig smaller.

Jmmijo would've spent an extra day on my server if everything wasn't 7zipped
